About
The Message from Deep Space is an odyssey of puzzles. Take the role of the mission's Translator, working alongside a scrappy band of scientists, and venture headfirst into the world of deciphering an alien language --- completely from the ground up.
Set in 1973, Earth is the recipient of a meteorite that broadcasts radio waves. In the role of the mission's Translator, the player is responsible for designing responses to the meteorite's transmissions, which, if correct, will elicit new messages from the meteorite. Only through this radio wave dialogue will patterns, words, syntax, and meaning all take form, leaving but one question:
What is it the aliens want to say?
Translate an alien language
Learn about an alien civilization
Interface with a retro computer
Manage a user-driven dictionary
Design radio transmissions by frequency
Collaborate with scientists that respond to your actions
+1000 in-game dialogues
+30 minutes OST
+30 hours of gameplay
Inspired by The Golden Record aboard the Voyager I space probe, The Message from Deep Space takes a realistic approach to deciphering an interstellar message. Beginning with the limited universal constants available to technologically advanced civilizations, the message spans a range of real-world fields of math & science. Decoding the message is tough, but with the support of the game's meticulous linguist, the single-minded computer programmer, and the affable astronomer, it is a challenge fit for anyone with Curiosity and Perseverance.

Reviews
This game is genuinely so special. If you have any patience whatsoever for math and science questions as the language builds, you need to check this game out. It is, without any exaggeration, a realistic portrayal of what it would be like to translate a message from a first contact with alien life. No corners are cut and you have to do all translating yourself. The fact that the dev was able to put this together so elegantly is such an unbelievable feat that deserves to be experienced by as many people as possible.
一个不错的玩法和一个更好的故事. THANKYOU L_AND GOODBYE.

Absolutely love this game so far. I'm an engineer and love science fiction and this is incredible. The retro-style for the computer, the music. It's great. And it feels very realistic for how first contact, with an alien probe that is rather than a full alien, would go. Slowly working from a common mathematical/physics ground and building up concepts first in math and then expanding. Testing for pattern recognition and critical thinking. It's just very cool.
The second game about translating an alien language to make me cry. All the hype is well deserved, especially if you're into the premise. Feels like a certain montage from Project Hail Mary built out to a full puzzle game, and in that way it's almost like building the theory of everything from nothing via universal truths. Every message you respond to builds on the next in some manner, and your in game colleagues are very well fleshed out and really make you feel like part of a team. My only real complaint is that there's occasional syntax mismatches, where the syntax you might be used to in a previous puzzle doesn't apply for seemingly no reason on a later similar one. but the story and feelings that come up as you translate the messages make up for that easily, especially if you're willing to check a guide when they come up. If you have any interest in STEM, astrophysics, and puzzles surrounding those topics, you'll find a lot to love in this game.
Genuinely a brilliant game! If you’re a fan of the movie “Arrival” or the book “Project Hail Mary”, (also the movie, but the book goes much more in depth in how the main character’s process of communicating with another character) you will almost certainly love this. If you’re unsure the free demo has more than enough to tell you if you’ll like it or not.
This game is fantastic start to end. The narrative and rule exploration married witha fair hint system and killer sountrack. I am in love and can't recommend enough at such a great pricepoint

I would absolutely buy more games like this.
Really enjoyed this game. Great soundtrack, deeply moving message, fun puzzles and logic. Even the four NPC characters you crack the message with are well thought out and push the story along with their dialogue and interactions. I will miss talking to them and the aliens. I got stuck in a few spots and needed to use the discord for help. Some of the requested responses are a little too abstract or a little too narrow in my opinion. But overall it was awesome.
