About
The Message from Deep Space is an odyssey of puzzles. Take the role of the mission's Translator, working alongside a scrappy band of scientists, and venture headfirst into the world of deciphering an alien language --- completely from the ground up.
Set in 1973, Earth is the recipient of a meteorite that broadcasts radio waves. In the role of the mission's Translator, the player is responsible for designing responses to the meteorite's transmissions, which, if correct, will elicit new messages from the meteorite. Only through this radio wave dialogue will patterns, words, syntax, and meaning all take form, leaving but one question:
What is it the aliens want to say?
Translate an alien language
Learn about an alien civilization
Interface with a retro computer
Manage a user-driven dictionary
Design radio transmissions by frequency
Collaborate with scientists that respond to your actions
+1000 in-game dialogues
+30 minutes OST
+30 hours of gameplay
Inspired by The Golden Record aboard the Voyager I space probe, The Message from Deep Space takes a realistic approach to deciphering an interstellar message. Beginning with the limited universal constants available to technologically advanced civilizations, the message spans a range of real-world fields of math & science. Decoding the message is tough, but with the support of the game's meticulous linguist, the single-minded computer programmer, and the affable astronomer, it is a challenge fit for anyone with Curiosity and Perseverance.

Reviews
I want to avoid spoilers, so am not reading other reviews of this game. I have only played 3 hours of this game so far it is exactly the puzzle-esque title I was looking for. Obra Dinn, Outer Wilds, Tunic all unique in the way learning to play them is playing them. This game is very much like that in the process of learning is the gameplay itself. Anyway it's like Project Hail Mary with SPOILER ALERT and SPOILER ALERT and how they learn to SPOILER ALERT. Realistically if you like abstract puzzle games where the gameplay lies in the learning this is amazing, only caveat of that being, be willing to think from a differing perspective and go back to drawing board if your concepts aren't working.
Excellent game for language, math, and programming nerds, all of which I happen to be.

genuinely amazing, in both execution of the initial concept and everything that follows, can't think of any better example of "decoding alien messages" in a puzzle game or interactive medium. will be thinking about this one for quite a long time. if you're at all interested in this game: please, DO NOT look up anything else about it, don't watch gameplay footage, just hop in and experience it for yourself without knowing what lies ahead. you won't regret it, promise.
This game is a once in a lifetime experience. It is somewhat rough, especially in the second half, where some puzzles aren't logical at all, but it didn't affect the whole impression for me. As many already said, this game is best if you go in completely blind, so stop scrolling the reviews and just play it
an absolute must for critical thinkers with passion for the sciences
never had this much fun decoding an alien message
If you're a fan of Arrival or the language scenes in Project Hail Mary, then this game is a damn good simulation of what that would be like in real life. Can't recommend it enough
This game is such a wonder. If you are a fan of games like Chants of Sennaar and Lingo prepare to find your new favorite game. Somehow The Message from Deep Space has you looking forward to doing highschool homework questions as you work to decypher an alien language. Each step forward you make, you begin to make a connection with these aliens that will keep you hooked. Each puzzle you solve leads you to more forms of communication which broadens the topics that are able to be covered. I look forward to all the progress I am making, and am sad to know that there will eventually be an end to these messages.
the game is a language discovey game, i have barely done 1/6th of the whole game but im having so much fun!! the start is very maths based but ive deeply enjoyed myself in it (i do love maths tbf)
