The Mermaid Mask

Could not be happier with this sequel! Astonishingly well crafted in every aspect, in writing, animation, voice acting, and MUSIC!!! THE MUSIC!!!!! This game slots in neatly beside the first while expanding the world and improving everything the first game set out to do. Worth every penny Also, Madame Tadpole... Just give me one chance.

This is a great installment in the series! Probably my favorite thus far, with lots of little references that I thoroughly enjoyed. The music that went with each character, the character designs, the voice acting, the dialogue itself, were all great. There's no pressure to create another one, but I'd be delighted if it ever came into being.

Mermaid Mask is an extremely solid outing in the Detective Grimoire series - prepare for strange and curious characters, outlandish situations, and fun, slightly goofy puzzles that gradually form together into a touch more serious, a touch more sinister mystery. If you're not sure, go back and play the previous games - they're often on sale at more than reasonable rates, and if you enjoy them, then you will certainly enjoy the Mermaid's Mask!

Loved it! Great graphic design. Even greater sound design. Masterful writing both in story and character flavors. And underneath it all a supersolid, no non-sense point&click adventure system consisting of locating characters (suspects), finding their relationships with other characters and shoving clues in their face to progress the plot. Some might argue its too simplistic and rigid... It's not: it's a framework that provides some basic rules but it's unintrusive enough to let music, writing and drawing take the lead and letting the game to constantly be more than the sum of parts.
