Also reviewed here on my channel: TwoSoda I've played my fair share of VR games, but 'The Maze' stands out as one of the most atmospheric and enjoyable roguelikes I've experienced. The game drops you into a dark and foreboding labyrinth, where danger lurks around every corner and death is always just a misstep away. But rather than feeling punishing or unfair, 'The Maze' strikes just the right balance of challenge and excitement, pushing you to explore its procedurally generated levels. It also receives a ton of regular updates from its highly dedicated and community listening developer. All in all, if you're a fan of roguelikes or VR games, I can't recommend 'The Maze' enough. With its gripping gameplay, stunning visuals, and haunting atmosphere, it's a must-play for anyone looking for an adventure that will keep them on the edge of their seat from start to finish.

This game, has potential, however I don't recommend it as of right now. After playing for about 20 minutes, I had to stop. The out-of-bounds region of the screen on my headset (Quest 3) appears as blue, which is distracting and strains the eyes, unlike other VR applications/games where it's black. The pick-up system is poorly designed, and the lack of an inventory (if there even is one) makes things worse. Performance-wise, it's questionable; although it's playable, there's noticeable stuttering even on a system meeting the minimum requirements. This game is probably not for me, but I can see the effort that was put in this. The developer is probably a solo dev and if that's true then this game is reasonable for the quality. I received this game for free, but I would have been willing to pay for it whenever i would have received my paycheck. Thanks to the developer for their generosity!
Great game and one of the best Dev i ever met. If you want a game to relax and have fun with friends, this is the right one. Cant wait for future updates.
I think it is a simple and enjoyable game thus far. It has a story to explain it's existence, which is nice. It has escalating difficulty that is slowly overcome by tools and skill on the player's part. I think this game has excellent potential to be a cult classic. 9/10, would play again. -IGN
Sadly, not recommended, i remember the game being alot of fun, but it had 1 bug that ruined it all for me when i first played it. The game would reinstall automatically every time i closed it. The gameplay was fun, sometimes a bit buggy, but that made it funny and in the end for me more fun. The premise was simple: start of maze, get weapon (mellee and ranged), collect ammo and weapons, find exit, next level. I loved it, combat felt responsive and fun. There was even a way to sneak by the enemies if you knew what you were doing. But as i said before, it resinstalled every time i closed it so i refunded it. Lately, i wondered if the bug was fixed and maybe pick it back up again, now the game just doesn't open at all and just runs as a background process and lags my entire pc out.
A little buggy but a ton of fun co-op with friends
All gas no breaks, this game is what people want, its what people need. Fun on its own and 100x better with friends. The Dev is a great guy and wants players to give him feedback and recommendations. For sure get this game and go play with him!
the game has tonnes of character, but it is extremely janky played on index in singleplayer: -the hands are very poorly aligned, and no finger tracking -hla style force grab is strange -ammo and points system is confusing -main gameplay seems like it'd get stale in no more than an hour of play -its too easy to grab the wrong thing -screens are wayyy too close to your face like yeah I don't mean to be extensive or super critical here, but overall the game feels like it's only 5-10% the way in development. Lots of interesting stuff going on, but it is all extremely half baked and also comes off as super janky and strange. this said, a fun moment was I dual wielded some neon green bowling bowls, and was able to brawl 10 demon gremlins to hell nonetheless I'm interested for where this game ends up in 3 years, since it's obvious the devs have a strong hand for art, theming, and overall mechanics -- but it's wayy too janky and rushed
Really fun VR rouge-like, with combat similar to blade and sorcery or boneworks. Really fun gun play with a wide range of attachments. Currently worth the money, but as it develops, I'm sure it'll be worth a lot more.
