A charming vr indie game with a passionate dev behind it Gabe listens to the players a lot and does his best to make the game as interesting as possible fun variety of weapons janky but fun combat Interesting concept It may be rough around the edges but it has potential and i'm interested to see what the game will look like in the future
bought then requested a refund less then an hour later its got great potential but its got to many game crashing bugs Edit- Never have i ever experienced such a dedicated developer not only did this gentleman make sure all my issues were heard and understood but he also showed me a glimpse of a future update and took the time to actually talk to me this man was so nice and actually wants to fix the issues we need more devs like this out there i would recommend this game 1000/100 times for the simple fact that this man was so helpful and pleasant

For an early access rogue-like game the weapons are amazingly detailed and fun to use. Highly recommend the tutorial at first to get comfy wit the control scheme. Combat is intense at times but being able to use firearms with melee weapons is a new one for me in the VR realm and helped me survive. You get more and more types and varieties as you level up gun discovery up. I love the triple barreled sawed off shotty. The physics are advanced and take some time to get used to, reminds me of when I first played Bonelabs. For instance, loading a weapon requires a bit of accuracy to get the mag into the receiver, or the shell into the shotgun. The dev team is super friendly and active in the discord.
The Maze is a fun Dungeon crawler/ Rougelike. You enter the dungeon and your goal is to reach the exit. To open the door to the exit, you need to find a valve first. you can play with up to 3 friends at the same time. at the start of the dungeon everyone gets a melee weapon and a ranged weapon. You can find different guns and weapons while you go through the dungeon. The combat is intuitive and responds really nice. I liked it from the first swing! After you managed to find the valve and opend the door to the exit, you pass through it and start at the 2nd level. You start again at the startingpoint and get a melee and a ranged weapon. For killing enemies you get exp for increasing your lvl. and coins to buy perks. These perks can be purcased in the menu after you completed your by dying, or completing 4 levels, or exiting the dungeon. Your lvl increases your HP pool and the perks give more melee, or ranged damage, or more ammunition. The further you dive into the dungeon, the harder the fights become. It's fun to attack the legs of the enemies to bring them to fall down, so you can pummel them into a pulp. With friends it's a lot of fun. And even alone I enjoyed my time so far :D
A really good game! Gameplay is straightforward --- navigate the maze while fending off foes in order to find what you need to escape ---, but fun and addicting with a variety of weapons to choose from so you can play according to your own style. Game contains a variety of baddies, so there is a nice variety. Some enemies you encounter will be pretty easy and other enemies you will just hope if you have to run into them that you are with a friend or have a really big gun! You will break a sweat as you traverse the maze! I am looking forward to watching this game develop and grow! A really cool concept for VR!
Shreks, spiders, and fear. They all find you
So far, I am really enjoying the game. The maze is a rogue like game in which you try to advance to as many levels as possible by finding the valve and exit for each level. There are multiple enemies throughout the maze. A certain amount of stealth can be used to make each level quite a bit easier. If an enemy sees you, they will alert all the enemies on that level and they will all come to attack you at once. It's relatively easy to avoid alerting enemies but becomes harder as you progress through the levels. After dying, you can use coins collected to purchase certain perks (better weapons). The combat and gunplay feel very satisfying, especially for such a small team. The dev to the game is very response, answers questions, fixes bugs, and makes frequent updates. The biggest negative to the game currently is it is fairly short but offers quite a bit of replay value and I am confident the dev will continue to add additional content and levels. Highly recommended, especially if you have someone to play with!
LOVE the game but its too easy now im not to worried about it for the most part since of the MASS updates which is a good thing but more or less before all the enemies are a one shot with any gun except a regular hand pistol i never could beat it which is why me and my friend kept playing it over and over and over again to get slightly closer and now we can do it with one clip from the starting area without having to even search the area for weapons and i had more than a handful of times us only get only three enemies on the map but so far it runs great and has huge potential in a game ive been waiting to play on the index!
So this is a strange game in a good way... I just got done playing a game with the developer himself. He openly admits. There's a lot of bugs, but that's part of why this is an early release game. The core concept of the game is actually pretty cool. Run around in the maze until you find a valve handle. Trying not to make too much noise and have enemies get alerted to your presents. Then when you find the valve handle you have to find the exit and turn the valve opens the door to the exit. A decent gameplay loop and the difficulty scales very very quickly There is a huge variety of weapons and the larger two-handed weapons have weight and have to them which is interesting for a VR game The game is nowhere near from being a polished product, but in its current state, I definitely think as a early access early development game it's worth putting some money into and getting on the discord with the developer to help him develop something. That could be Even more fun than it already is
Also reviewed here on my channel: TwoSoda I've played my fair share of VR games, but 'The Maze' stands out as one of the most atmospheric and enjoyable roguelikes I've experienced. The game drops you into a dark and foreboding labyrinth, where danger lurks around every corner and death is always just a misstep away. But rather than feeling punishing or unfair, 'The Maze' strikes just the right balance of challenge and excitement, pushing you to explore its procedurally generated levels. It also receives a ton of regular updates from its highly dedicated and community listening developer. All in all, if you're a fan of roguelikes or VR games, I can't recommend 'The Maze' enough. With its gripping gameplay, stunning visuals, and haunting atmosphere, it's a must-play for anyone looking for an adventure that will keep them on the edge of their seat from start to finish.
