Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 8 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's really buggy. The batteries are gone in seconds, I was stuck between the rocking chair and the closet in the living room. I almost died IN THE LIGHT of the little lamp next to the fireplace (I think the little space between is bugged because of the shadow of the table). But it's also a lot of fun to play. Most of the jump scares are really good. The puzzles are nothing special, but good enough. It's a good atmosphere and runs I enjoyed it. It took me about an hour and with its issues I would say buy with discount, but give it a try =)
Quick little horror game that took me 40 minutes to get through. Whether or not you think that is worth $5 is totally up to you. + Graphics and atmosphere are well done + Some generally creepy moments and a few jump scares made me jump out of my seat - Some very cheap deaths that I could not avoid happened about 3 times (You only get put back about 1 minute of game time however which was nice) - Story is cliche and not interesting - The puzzles stick out and are unrelated to anything - The flashlight battery goes out WAY too soon If you like horror indie games you know what you are getting into, this one is super short but the atmosphere is good. I would get it on sale if possible for a buck or two.
Bad asset flip horror-puzzler.
The madness of death is a first-person psychological horror game developed and published by Vania Studios. Designed around exploration, puzzle-solving, and supernatural storytelling, the game focuses on creating a tense atmosphere rather than relying on constant action or combat. It places players inside an isolated farmhouse haunted by tragedy, mystery, and dark forces connected to an ancient artifact known as the Death Stone. Through a combination of environmental storytelling, eerie encounters, and investigative gameplay, the experience aims to immerse players in a slow-burning horror narrative where every discovery reveals another unsettling piece of the puzzle. The story begins with a deeply personal tragedy. Following the death of his wife in a devastating accident, a man retreats from society and becomes obsessed with obscure legends and forbidden knowledge. His strange behavior eventually worries his family, prompting his sister to travel to the remote property where he has secluded himself. Upon arriving, she discovers that the farmhouse has been abandoned and her brother is nowhere to be found. During her search, she encounters a mysterious stone covered in strange symbols. Touching the artifact triggers a chain of supernatural events that traps her within a terrifying nightmare, forcing her to uncover the truth behind both the disappearance and the curse attached to the object. One of the game's strongest qualities is its commitment to atmosphere. The farmhouse setting is relatively modest compared to the sprawling environments found in some horror titles, yet this limitation becomes one of its advantages. The confined spaces, dim corridors, abandoned rooms, and unsettling silence create a feeling of isolation that grows stronger as the story progresses. The environment constantly encourages players to question what is real and what might be a product of the curse's influence. This uncertainty becomes a key component of the overall horror experience. Exploration serves as the primary gameplay mechanic. Players spend much of their time investigating the house, searching for clues, collecting important items, and uncovering details about the events that led to the current situation. The game rewards curiosity by hiding information throughout the environment rather than presenting it through lengthy exposition. Notes, objects, and environmental details gradually reveal the narrative, encouraging players to actively piece together the story rather than passively receive it. Puzzle-solving is another important aspect of progression. Various locked paths and mysterious obstacles require players to think carefully and examine their surroundings. The puzzles generally fit naturally within the setting, helping maintain immersion while providing moments of interaction beyond simple exploration. They are accessible enough to avoid becoming frustrating but still require observation and logical thinking. This balance helps keep the pacing consistent throughout the adventure. The psychological horror elements are handled with a focus on suspense rather than spectacle. Instead of overwhelming players with constant jump scares, the game relies on tension, anticipation, and environmental changes to generate fear. Strange events occur unexpectedly, familiar locations become distorted, and unsettling details gradually accumulate. The result is an atmosphere where players rarely feel completely comfortable, even during moments when nothing overtly threatening is happening. This approach helps sustain a lingering sense of dread throughout the experience. The narrative benefits from themes that go beyond simple supernatural horror. At its core, the story explores grief, obsession, and the dangers of attempting to alter fate. The husband's desperate search for a way to reverse death provides emotional motivation for the supernatural events that follow. This thematic foundation gives the story additional weight and helps distinguish it from more generic haunted-house narratives. The horror emerges not only from the curse itself but also from the tragic circumstances that allowed it to take hold. Visually, the game presents a believable environment that supports its horror themes effectively. The farmhouse feels lived in, and the attention given to interior spaces helps establish immersion. Lighting is particularly important to the experience, with shadows and darkness frequently becoming sources of tension. Players are often encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings, as poorly lit areas create uncertainty and vulnerability. While the graphical fidelity may not compete with larger-budget productions, the visual design succeeds in creating an appropriately unsettling atmosphere. Audio design is equally important in maintaining immersion. The game makes effective use of ambient sounds, distant noises, and moments of silence to build tension. Small audio cues often create more anxiety than obvious threats, encouraging players to remain alert as they move through the environment. The soundscape contributes significantly to the feeling that something unnatural is always present just beyond view. The pacing favors players who enjoy methodical exploration and gradual storytelling. The game unfolds at a deliberate speed, allowing suspense to develop naturally rather than relying on constant excitement. This slower structure strengthens the atmosphere but may not appeal to players looking for action-heavy horror experiences. Those expecting frequent encounters or survival-focused gameplay may find the emphasis on investigation and environmental storytelling less intense than other horror titles. There are some limitations that prevent the game from reaching greater heights. Its relatively linear progression reduces replay value once the mystery has been solved, and some players may wish for more complex puzzles or a greater variety of gameplay mechanics. Certain sections can also feel familiar to fans of psychological horror due to the genre's common themes and structure. However, the game generally succeeds because it remains focused on delivering a cohesive and atmospheric experience. What ultimately makes The madness of death memorable is its ability to create tension through mystery. The desire to understand what happened inside the farmhouse and uncover the truth behind the Death Stone provides a strong motivation to continue exploring. Every clue discovered deepens the intrigue and gradually reveals a story driven by loss, obsession, and supernatural consequences. The madness of death is a solid psychological horror adventure that emphasizes atmosphere, storytelling, and exploration over action. Its eerie setting, intriguing narrative, effective use of suspense, and engaging investigative gameplay create a compelling experience for fans of slower-paced horror games. While it may not redefine the genre, it delivers enough mystery, tension, and supernatural intrigue to provide an enjoyable journey into darkness. Rating: 7/10
