An unusual mix of adventure and idle game. In utter loneliness deep below the surface, it's your task to wait for the awakening of your king... for 400 days.

Honestly, this was one of the strangest games I have played in the best ways. This little dude was my everything for 400 days. I wish I could play it for the first time again
darkness is good actually.
Steam claims I've only played this for about an hour? I've definitely put in more time than that... Anyway, this game rules. It's a sort of point and click adventure style game, with idle game elements. Most of the puzzles require you to perform an action and then leave the game a while to come back to later and see if your solution was correct. It's very satisfying to get the solutions right, although i will say i had to look up a guide for some of the late game puzzles. The player character is adorable. I felt so bad for his situation, for his loneliness... very sympathetic. I should say, this game deals with darker themes than you might expect. There's a particular situation the main character finds himself in about halfway though that made me have to put down the game for a few weeks afterward. I eventually came back to it and I'm glad I did, but be wary if you'r sensitive to this sort of stuff. CONTENT WARNING FOR: suicide. Other than that, though, The Longing is one of the best games I've played in a while. It's really good, guys.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Slow down a bit and really sit with yourself
this is oddly fun..
A bit slow but well worth it!
I forget to check on the little guy 😭
It's a game that makes you consider your place in this infinite universe.
You are literally playing THE LONG(ing) game as you wait for this wonderful artpiece. I think because of the slow pace it is art in itself and I love that the developers seemed to really cherish that this game comes with it's own pace. So brace yourself for a LONG one but a very cool, mysterious but ultimately nice journey in THE LONGING!
its boring 👍
