been playing this game for years over consoles and pc. its hard for me to find negative things to say about this game. if you give me enough time i bet i could find a few nitpicks or things i wish were different. other than that its an amazing game. I have mainly played the wintermute and the challenges. the story is good so far as i have yet to play the fifth episode. I am not a pure survival kind of player. on occasion i may play survival from time to time but it is rare. i do wish there was maybe side stories or something like that you can follow in survival. without written goals it can be hard for me to continue playing. that being said if you are like me in that regard then wintermute and the challenges are gonna be fun for you. TLD covers what anyone who enjoys survival games may want.

I absolutely love The Long Dark. It’s one of those games that slowly changes the way you think. At first I carried everything “just in case,” but after enough time in places like Ash Canyon and Bleak Inlet, I learned that life is much easier when you stop carrying half the map on your back. The game teaches you to respect the cold, plan your routes, value every branch, every match, and every piece of food. Different regions feel like different lessons in survival, and that’s one of the things I love most about it. The atmosphere is incredible, the world feels lonely in a very special way, and even small moments — finding shelter during a blizzard, hearing the radio during an aurora, finally reaching a safe base — can feel genuinely memorable. It’s brutal, sometimes cruel, and occasionally makes me want to throw something at the screen, but surviving because you planned well feels incredibly rewarding. One of my favorite survival games

Leute lasst euch nix erzählen, es ist ein stink langweiliges Game. Es passiert nie etwas man macht feuer, kocht wasser und der tag geht. Aber es passiert nie etwas, holz sammeln feuer machen tag rum und so weiter. super langweilig.

I'm sorry; I have to leave a review. I bought this game back before it even had any episodes because I believed in the story potential of the game. For four episodes, I was roughly correct. There was an amazing and compelling story. The ending ruined it. I am so disappointed that I had my expectations so high for this game just for that ending. If you're looking to buy this game, I am honestly sorry and reluctant to report that the ending is just bad. If you're Hinterland reading this, I'm even more sorry that I can't give you good feedback. Your writing was so bad that I'll never forget how this game made me feel. I will honestly never play the story through again. It had so many great moments and it's just not worth doing again, purely for that ending. I'm really sad that it all had to end like this. Change your writing team.
