About
The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is a narrative-driven RPG that comes to life on the pages of the protagonist's journal. Set in a ruthless world where any form of dissent is mercilessly crushed, the story follows a man who has dared to challenge the existing order. Set out on a lifelong journey and become an individual able to carve out their own destiny... But remember that freedom never comes cheap.
Life in the Great Arknian Empire is harsh and its hardest Lot is yours by the circumstance of birth. You are a commoner, holding no rights and no title. To seize your fate and become the rightful heir to the legacy of the Brante family you will have to come to grips with ossified tradition and prejudice. Embarking on a life-long journey from one's birth until true death, you will have to endure great upheavals, face adversity, and make many difficult choices. Every decision will affect not only the protagonist, his family, and loved ones, but may even topple the foundation of the Empire itself.

At the turn of time
Every imperial citizen's life is predetermined by their estate. The deities known as the Twin Gods have bestowed this truth to the world, dividing mortals into Lots. The nobles lead and rule over others, while the clergy guides people on the one true path, and the lowborn suffer, toiling away for the glory of the Empire. You may accept your fate without question, but it is also in your power to change the cosmic order that governs all.

Your choice is not an illusion
Divided into chapters, the game keeps track of the player's deeds, the skills they acquired, as well as other overlapping circumstances that shape a unique plotline for each playthrough. Every decision has its consequences and you will be held accountable throughout the entire journey. To protect your family and loved ones, to impose the rule of the Emperor and make a fortune, or to try and change the world as you see fit... Make your choice, but beware of the follies of pride and ambition.

Fight for your life
One man is anything but omnipotent in this realm yet under your guidance, Sir Brante may become a person who can endure every trial fate throws at him and rewrite the very laws that govern his world! Develop and train your character, leveling up such traits as determination, sensitivity, and endurance. All of the hero's skills, starting with those acquired in infancy, will affect his personality, worldview, and relationships, ultimately unlocking new talents and possible storylines.

Find your own path
The first complete walkthrough can take you upwards of 15 hours! Numerous branching paths that affect the unfolding story will make every playthrough a unique experience: become a noble judge, learn the ways of the inquisition, plot a revolution as a member of a secret society, or embrace an entirely different purpose. Be brave and fate itself shall bend to your will!

There and hereafter
Resurrection system allows the character to keep his experience upon death, letting the player reevaluate past steps and make adjustments to their strategy going forward. Take control not only of your life but also your demise, then put everything at stake in this cycle of death and rebirth!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A good narrative game with some minor flaws. I found the story to be engaging and well written. The situations Sir Brante finds himself in are varied, unpredictable, but still reasonable within the narrative. I found some choices and stat management to be a bit arbitrary. Sometimes a choice will alter the world in a way that doesn't really make sense to me without reading the tooltips. That being said, if you choose a character concept and stick to it you will generally find the story supports the archetype
A brilliant, painful masterpiece – bound by its own math The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is a phenomenal piece of interactive fiction. The oppressive, religiously fanatical caste system of the Empire is incredibly well-written. Playing as a commoner on the Rebel path is an unforgettable experience: every tiny victory feels monumental because the entire world is rigged against you. However, the game struggles when its strict resource management (the stat mathematics) collides with its narrative logic. The game often forces you into a rigid binary: either you side with a tragically broken character like Sophia and embrace a chaotic, bloody uprising, or you abandon her to achieve a "peaceful compromise." This "golden compromise" ending is where the ludonarrative dissonance hits hard. It feels like a forced video game illusion. An entrenched aristocracy that believes it has a literal, divine right to rule doesn't just sit down for peace talks when the lower classes rebel—it crushes them. The game tries to reward you with a clean "happy ending" if you balance your stats perfectly, but it ignores the grim reality of its own lore. The story is actually at its most profound when it mirrors real history, like the French Revolution. True freedom from absolute tyranny is never peaceful; it requires a horrific price. The most logical and impactful outcome isn't a diplomatic treaty, but a tragic sacrifice. Even if a violent revolution turns you into a monster, or if the new republic is immediately crushed by foreign kingdoms and internal terror, the ultimate victory lies in the idea. Once the common people see that a "divine" Arknian can bleed, the illusion of their godhood is shattered forever. You cannot execute an idea. The true "good ending" of this universe is the painful one: where you don't magically fix everything, but become the martyr whose brutal sacrifice lays the groundwork for the monarchy's collapse generations later. I loved my time with this game, but I couldn't help but wish for more emotion over mathematics. If this deeply philosophical, tragic storytelling had the cinematic presentation and emotional weight rather than being a static spreadsheet of numbers, it would be an unmatched masterpiece. Despite the frustration of the point-chasing mechanics, it is a brilliant exploration of power, suffering, and the brutal price of freedom. Highly recommended.
Peak storytelling. Forget the gameplayslops, don't search up any spoilers and enjoy the suffering.
