The only real problem I had with this game was a crucial logical flaw. In a world where you've experienced the gods firsthand, I don't see how any rational person could choose a life other than joining the clergy. That completely broke my role-playing immersion. My Sir Brante died for the first time while protecting a girl and literally met the gods. From that moment on, I couldn't come up with any believable role-playing reason for him *not* to become a priest. Such a direct, undeniable divine experience would fundamentally reshape a person's worldview. Continuing down any other path felt illogical and out of character. It's a small issue mechanically, but from an RP perspective, it was impossible for me to ignore. The game gives you incredible freedom of choice, but this is one moment where the narrative undermines that freedom. After personally witnessing undeniable proof of the gods' existence, choosing anything other than the clergy feels less like role-playing and more like ignoring the story's own logic. Other than that, the story is fantastic. I replayed the game countless times just to save my family. I realized that, even though I disagreed with Stephan and Gloria's childless decisions, and even though Sir Robert's indecisiveness often frustrated me, I still wanted them to be safe. I wanted them to live decent lives, even if that meant they weren't living alongside me anymore. As long as they survived the revolt, I was satisfied. Like a real family, you may argue, disagree, or even drift apart, but deep down you still hope they're safe, happy, and living well on their own.
