At Thors Military Academy, Erebonia’s best learn everything from the art of war to liberal arts. First year Rean Schwarzer learns he’s been selected to join the controversial Class VII, and they’ll need to deal with more than just class warfare--they’ll need to safeguard their country from chaos.

Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Was always gonna be a climbdown after Azure, but this is probably the best way of doing it. I'm all for cute high schooler slice of life, especially compounded by eventual 24-level chapter plots and the gradual reveal of Rean as a twisted little Emiya-type - a thread they spin all the way to Reverie to great effect. Maybe not the best Trails game, but a great game, and everything the rest of this arc gets right, it owes to this.

++ One of my favorite JRPGs. * Offline singleplayer. * Almost 400 Save slots. * More graphics options for potato PCs. * Simple and less buttons to press. Like binding the controller buttons with keyboard keys. * You can have 3 different keybinds on your keyboard for the same action. * Newgame+ Bonuses and secret cutscenes. Clearing the newgame+ again will let you unlock and use more bonuses so you don't have to sacrifice some of your progress for a costume. * Your save file can be imported to ToCS II. Only DLC costumes can be carried over, some rewards based on your previous game level and rank. !! This game was almost perfect, like just 2 more steps and it would've been one of the greatest JRPGs I've ever played. * No autoplay dialogue option. You will have to manually click next after every dialogue instead of just relax and watch everything like watching an anime. * Only 40% of the dialogues and cutscenes are voiced. Just imagine how good the other interactions would've been, even on NPCs, if all the dialogues had a voice.
The only reason this isn't my favorite JRPG is because an earlier game in this series - Sky SC - is. But that's getting remade soon, and a lot of people probably aren't nostalgic for classic isometric JRPGs, so start here, instead and wait for that remake after.. This is a great 3d JRPG, and while the plot of earlier games informs this game, almost all the characters in this game are "new" to world events, so they'll talk about those previous games the same way you'd need them to. The only thing I'll say is that the start is a little "anime high school"-ish, but I feel it's a great basis for the story and it largely doesn't sit on those tropes.
While I do recommend playing this game if you are already invested in the world of Trails, I was personally disappointed by the end of the game. It felt like a huge step down from the Sky & Crossbell arcs. The side characters were really annoying/full of tropes I hate and some of the main characters got barely any character development. I get that they're probably saving it for the next 3 games, but still, for an introduction game, it just felt extremely surface-level at times. I won't be jumping into Cold Steel 2 for a while as I'm honestly not excited to continue.
Its a very good turn-based game with some feel good moments in the story. Its extremely cheezy though and some of the story bits are bit awkward in terms of pace. 8/10. I hate Angelica.
