Hailed as one of the largest, longest and most meticulously detailed turn-based JRPG series of all time, this first chapter in the ongoing Trails saga sets the stage for what's quickly become Ys developer Nihon Falcom's most popular and best-selling franchise in their entire 30+ year history.

Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Sep 3 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Love it. The characters feels so real in the way they talk and act. And the storytelling is amazing. Every NPC has their own little adventure.
很不错,角色形象塑造的好
Great game and great introduction to the Legend of Heores/Trails world. Take your time, avoid rushing and you'll enjoy the world building, setting and game. Can't wait for the next game
(YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE VOICE ACTING MOD BEFORE PLAYING THE GAME ITS REQUIRED) combat is fun and discourages mashing A. story is extremely engaging. writing is phenomenal, and character dialog is extremely entertaining and emotional. AND the game has Duke Dunan in it so you gotta play it, boom.
Estelle world domination
if you like RPGs at ALL please please play this. it is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good I promise. I know it looks hideous even for 2004 but the writing and the music and the gameplay are so good that it doesnt even matter

New Game Plus, different quartz and craft setups, and the chance to relax into the world again give it strong “comfort replay” potential, even if you already know the big plot turns.

💙Favorites 💬 Story First, Always: FC really is a slow burn masterpiece kind of JRPG. The main plot around Estelle, Joshua, and the Liberl Kingdom ramps up from small bracer jobs into political intrigue, and by the end it feels like you have lived through a whole arc rather than just cleared a checklist. 💬 Characters Who Feel Like Friends: Estelle and Joshua carry the game with their dynamic, but the side cast and NPCs are what make the world feel alive. People remember what happened, update their dialogue as the story moves, and start to feel like real residents instead of background props. 💬 Liberl Feels Huge: Each region of Liberl has its own flavor, local stories, and bracer work. The amount of optional dialogue and side quests is wild in a good way, so exploring towns between big plot beats is genuinely rewarding. 💬 Soundtrack That Sticks: Falcom Sound Team jdk went all in on this one. Town themes, battle music, and emotional story tracks like “The Whereabouts of Light” give scenes a lot of weight and make the game easy to associate with specific melodies even long after you put it down.

🛠️Improvements 💭 Very Slow Start: The prologue and early chapters take their time, and if you are used to modern, snappier pacing it can feel like the story takes a while to really kick into gear. Once things click it is fantastic, but you need to be okay with a long setup. 💭 Fix the Voices: Without a patch, the game is very text heavy. I played it without characters having voices (as is the default), but knowing there are voices for characters is fantastic and I wish I could have heard them without a fan patch.

🎯Verdict Absolutely recommended. One of my staple JRPGs for anyone who values story, world building, and characters over instant gratification. Trails in the Sky FC starts slowly, then blooms into a rich, emotional adventure in Liberl that made me genuinely attached to its cast and curious about every new town. On Steam Deck it feels like a perfect fit for long evenings and chapter-by-chapter progress, and knowing there is a much longer remake and a direct sequel waiting makes finishing FC feel even more exciting. If you want a flashy, fast RPG with minimal reading or you dislike cliffhanger style endings, this probably will not land for you, but if you love great writing in an expansive world with memorable characters, I will always recommend this game.
