The game started out on Steam Greenlight and launched into Steam Early Access on June 22, 2016. In the beginning Super Punk Games did a fairly good job at keeping their word in the Early Access area on the store page as far as talking with the community and updates were concerned. Things started to get quiet after the SUPER Editor update went live around October 2017. In January 2018 they moved to a new office and hired a bunch of new people to work on a new game which they mentioned in their June 2018 apology announcement for zero communication and updates. Then after the apology the studio basically did the exact same thing again, went silent. By this point there's still a lot of things that community has been waiting for and nothing has come of it, like monsters. In November of 2018 the devs broke their silence and came out with the "Fly You Fools" update. This update just seems like something they threw together quickly just to say there was an update. It honestly made no sense, as now the ships can fly. The problem with this is that everything that this game is about has to do with water and naval combat. The update consisted of adding 6 flying blocks and a some small bug fixes and an event. Then there was a small event in February 2019 and in March 2019 a small list of bug fixes. That's basically it, till the other day where there was an announcement that Super Punk Games is closing down and with it this game. The game had a lot of potential at the start, but it got put on the backburner for years. It doesn't even have monsters added yet, which are supposed to be one of the core elements of the game. The early access information is what the devs commit to and what people who are buying the product are expecting and unfortunately it fell short of the mark by a LOT. How Super Punk Games handled things with The Last Leviathan is a prime example of what not to do in Early Access. The Super Punk Games studio was dissolved on November 18, 2022 by the two people who ran the studio and are still running their mobile game company, Appcrowd Ltd . Since the announcement on the Steam store page that the studio was closing down in November of last year the game has had 3 sales. Even with the current 50% off sale the game isn't worth it. There's plenty of good games out there you can spend your $5 on.

Should I write that this game has potential? Forget it... it doesn't really bring anything new to the table and it doesn't excel in any field - It might be fun for those who are at entry level to the genre. If you looking for a wow experience - save your time and money. Note: The developers have announced that they closing shop and that this game, along others, will be removed from the store and won't be updating any longer via steam.
Let's hope that this indeed isn't the last leviathan to rise up from the depths and into the sky never to return again.
Ostatecznie studio zakończyło działalność, rozwój gry został porzucony, a The Last Leviathan wycofano ze sprzedaży.
It's a very fun little game. The physics engine is really nice for a game that's so light weight. I love how wacky all of the mechanics are. I Love this game to bits. Because it's just pure unadulterated fun to go ramming through enemy ships and buildings with your ship and the many forms it can take. I recommend at the very least trying it before it disappears forever. Who knows, you might love it~ :) Rest in Peace, Super Punk Games. o7
Game looked promising. Was too buggy to play. I hoped devs will fix. Nothing happened for months. Then suddenly they shut down ;/ Well at least I grabbed it on Fanatical/Humble so it was cheaper. #BringBackSteamGreenlight
This ♥♥♥♥ is why I hate Early Access.
This game, was a scam. Although not an obvious one, but a scam nonetheless.
