Very fun game. It's pretty tough at the start, but feels very rewarding when you get good at it.
Good game on steam deck runs well and fun for the price if you like games like binding of isaac
Easy to play, hard to master and a lot of stuff to explore. I'm really thankful I can easily change how easy or hard I want it to be, so I can adjust it to my energy level :)

The Last Game is a fast-paced and energetic roguelite that blends top-down bullet-hell action with a strong emphasis on build experimentation. Developed and published by Frédéric Julian, the game embraces the spirit of classic arcade shooters while delivering the replayability and unpredictability expected from modern roguelite design. Each run drops you into a compact but dangerous dungeon filled with enemies, hazards, and constantly shifting opportunities for power growth. The premise is simple—survive long enough to reach the end—but the path there is shaped by the countless items, characters, and synergies you uncover along the way. Visually, the game leans into colorful pixel art with clear silhouettes and readable effects, allowing the chaotic action to remain comprehensible even during the most explosive moments. Enemies swarm the screen, bullets scatter in dense patterns, and players respond with attacks that can evolve from modest shots to overwhelming barrages thanks to stacked upgrades. The retro art style complements the intense gameplay, giving the experience a familiar but polished presentation that recalls classic shooters while still feeling contemporary. Combined with sharp sound effects and punchy feedback, combat feels fluid and satisfying from the first encounter onward. The heart of The Last Game lies in its build variety. With over a hundred items and numerous characters to choose from, each run has the potential to evolve in wildly different directions. Items interact in unexpected ways, leading to synergies that can transform your character into a rapid-firing powerhouse, an area-control specialist, or a bizarre hybrid that relies on unconventional mechanics. Runs often start modestly but escalate quickly as upgrades compound, and much of the excitement comes from discovering combinations you didn’t anticipate. This unpredictability ensures that even brief sessions feel fresh, as no two attempts unfold the same way. Despite its frantic action, the game demands careful decision-making. You frequently face risk-versus-reward choices—push deeper into a floor to chase a rare upgrade, or retreat to avoid losing a promising run? Enemy patterns must be learned, dodging must be precise, and resource management plays a role in maintaining momentum. The penalty for overconfidence is steep; a single mistake can end a run abruptly. This tension keeps the gameplay engaging, challenging players to balance aggression with awareness. The difficulty curve encourages improvement without feeling unfair, rewarding skillful play while still leaving room for improvisation. The inclusion of local co-op adds another substantial layer to the experience. Up to four players can join the fray, turning the already chaotic action into a frenzy of shared survival and friendly competition. Co-op runs foster spontaneous teamwork as players combine builds, rescue one another during tough moments, and enjoy the unpredictability that comes from multiple characters unleashing their abilities at once. While the lack of online multiplayer may be disappointing for some, local co-op provides a fun and energetic way to enjoy the game with friends, particularly for those who enjoy couch-style gaming sessions. The Last Game is not without its limitations. The heavy reliance on item randomness means that some runs are simply more favorable than others, and players looking for strict strategic control may find the RNG swings frustrating. Additionally, while the moment-to-moment combat is consistently enjoyable, the overall structure leans more toward replayability than long-form progression. This focus suits the genre well, but players expecting a complex meta-layer or deep narrative may find the experience more straightforward than they prefer. Even with these caveats, The Last Game stands out as a vibrant and rewarding roguelite. Its blend of accessible controls, intense bullet-hell combat, and rich build variety creates a loop that’s addictive and satisfying. Whether played solo or in local co-op, the game offers a constant sense of discovery as you test new combinations and push your limits. For fans of action-heavy roguelites, arcade-inspired shooters, or fast, replayable gameplay sessions, The Last Game succeeds in delivering a compelling, tightly crafted experience with plenty of chaotic charm. Rating: 8/10
Hidden bullet hell gem!
Borderline thumbs up. It's a decent little twinstick roguelite. On one hand, it's hard to think highly of this game when games like Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon already exist. On the other hand, this game is a fraction of the price, so it's not really a fair comparison. I think for this game to be really good it just needs more *stuff*. More room types, more enemy types, more stuff in the rooms so that it's not always just an identical rectangle arena, etc. For now, I'd say get this game only on sale and only if you really like twinstick roguelites.
Great twin-stick roguelite. Loads of build variety and fun upgrades.
セールで購入。 開発者が謙遜しながらプレイをお勧めする小さなゲームだけど、値段相当分の楽しさはある。 ライブラリに追加して、ちょっと息抜きに遊ぶのはオススメ。
iz gud
Very fun little game. Does what it says on the tin, and doesn't mess about. Lovely Pixel art, and good feeling movement and combat. Ended up buying on my phone, and sunk most my time there. Well worth the asking price.
