About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

UPDATE SAME DAY: They contacted me and told me they implemented a suggestion of mine directly into the game. There's a magic mirror somewhere in the world that can change your character. that's genuinely pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool. plus they added playable bear people called Uruhan in the same flash update. I already started a new character and am a good leg of the way in leveling and decided to spawn the gear I lost. If you are genuinely in the mood to patiently help shape a bad ass game, I'd jump on board. plus there's friggin coop I haven't even been able to try because I have no friends >_< Previous Review: it is with a sad heart that I tell you to wait for this to cook. I have lost my belongings stashed in my shack at least a dozen times now from a glitch the game launched with, that they fixed, that my save was doomed with. as every time I did the console command that was given to me to make my character BACK into a cat-man, Calyx, from a random NPC build that I would load into because of the fix, my boxes at home would empty. once or even twice I can roll with the punches... this happened at least ten times while I was out exploring, so every time I'd leave home and experience this glitch and console command it because my save was corrupted from an update, everything I had gathered since the last glitch WOULD BE GONE. Rinse and repeat. I really enjoy tf out of this game and especially the way the devs interact but this should have been left in the oven for a while longer... just allow people to request early access as opposed to charging people $20 to help you get your game into a working shape. I truly hope this game can not only retain it's playerbase but expand into a more popular space. I'm not really a patient gamer but after 30 hrs of alpha testing I paid for and actually enjoyed tf out of I would advise waiting unlesss you want to help shape this game as the developers are incredibly interactive and responsive. this game is going to be huge if they can get it working quick enough. I'm gonna come back and re-review this in a month or two. PS: this game has run incredibly well on my Steamdeck with high settings on everything except shadows.

Its Morrowind inspirations are clear and while there's quite an amount of early access and other jank, none of it has been game breaking (yet). 10 hours in and I've been having a blast.
needs to be polished but seems promising, if you want better experience with this game wait for few monts or full year
Nah
Great game. Nostalgic for me as my favorite game of all time is Oblivion. Morrowind only comes second because I played Oblivion first as a kid and hid it from my mom because she thought it was satanic. Bit buggy but so were most Bethesda games on full launch. This has been fun from day one and it came out yesterday. Has a ton of potential and cannot recommend it enough.
Very jees
Keeps crashing :[
It feels really nice so far. Only negative IMO is that the when you have a spell equipped, the physical effect lingers when you move around and it can be hard to see the enemy standing right in front of you. Having an option to turn off spell effect so that my hands aren't spewing out lightning/fire/ice would be awesome. Having a blast regardless.
Amazing game imho....Early Elder Scrolls vibes...
spawn in talk to the merchant then gets killed without stealing or hitting anyone
