About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

Reviews
What this RPG lacks in size, it more than makes up for in density. Too many modern RPGs are filled with hundreds of hours walking between quest markers, but excluding Fromsoft titles, very few have had me as excited to simply explore the world as this one. This game is a far worthier successor to Morrowind than anything Bethesda has produced since Oblivion, and it is more than worth the price.
I am blown away. This game is amazing I absolutely love it. If you enjoy Elder Scrolls, this is well worth your time and money. No spoilers. You gotta play it.

Only 3 hours into this one and I'm seriously impressed. Game is fun, it's gorgeous (in it's own unique way), and written brilliantly so far. It's early access so there are definitely some rough patches here and there, but it's world building is great and the exploration is top notch. Probably my favorite indy game this year! The only thing that's driving me somewhat crazy are the different texel densities and texture filter changes here and there, but that's the VFX artist side of me bugging out. In the end this doesn't matter when it still all works and is a joy to play. I highly recommend this game.
very fun
This truly feels like a classic game experience from my childhood that somehow only just released.. pick this up and enjoy it my friend
I cannot recommend this game enough. 22 hours, and not a single one has been boring or frustrating. 22 hours of pure joy and I get excited for when I play next. The game is amazing and the stylised graphics are beautiful, AND they run quite well. I've been playing split screen (which is not something that games have often these days), and it's been an absolute blast to explore the wacky things all around this island. The dev team are amazing, listening to what everyone suggests and churning out big content updates weekly. Get this game. You won't regret it.
A great game. Cant wait for more to come!
As close to modern Morrowind as it gets. Both in terms of vibes and gameplay. Naturally some warts come with that but with more time in the oven and this might be beautiful. Basically: a good time if you can tolerate a moderate to large amount of non game breaking bugs. Personally I got to a point where the bugs became too immersion breaking but tis the nature of EA.
Just exploring around the world is fun. The quests are good so far. Mind you, it is early access... the UI is pretty jank in some spots. But the core gameplay (run around, do quest, hit monster with sword, block enemy attack) works fine.
