About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

Reviews
Not gonna lie it was a little hard to get into because of the side-quest overload at the start... I wasn't sure if I should do those or not and it was a bit overwhelming. But, once you start progressing the main quest the exploration loop becomes super interesting and fun. Also, the music in this game is insanely good... It's honestly what helped me push through the initial stress.
Like all the other reviews, this game seems feels like an Elder scrolls game, but on the N64. It's a good game so far.

Giving me heavy Morrowind vibes, and it's bring me back to my childhood. Well done. Looking forward to the updates that come
if you love a more classic experience with some modern flourashes then youll love this game! i will say there are some minor things that could use a little polish but for the most part this is a fun rpg with a great leveling system and lots of charm and character to it! i cant wait to see how this game develops
Very buggy but surprisingly very fun game especially when you play with your friend coop.
I laughed, unlike the Saint
Buggy but expected from a super recent release. Getting better every day with all the updates! Once some of the quality of life updates improve like sorted items from merchants this game will be unstoppable. Also can confirm it does work on Steam Deck. Just make sure you turn your video settings down from foolish to low/medium.
Great game. Honestly one of the top 3 I've played in Early Access (I've played a lot of them). With that being said, I think the game is way too demanding for the graphics. The graphics tend to be "old school" and remind me of oblivion, which is fine. However, my 3050 4gb vram (not the best, I know) SHOULD still be able to run this IMO. The game is unplayable on all settings except "low". Games that run fine on my PC at medium to high settings include: Path of Exile 2, Diablo 4, Dark and Darker, Call of Duty: Warzone, list goes on and on... I have VERY high hopes for this game and the developers. I'm sure performance updates will come soon. We must keep in mind this game is still VERY EARLY access. =)
I'll preface this with I'm a huge fan of Morrowind.... Pros: The game is fun so far. Enemies all have different fighting styles, the game doesn't baby you (for instance it's very easy to stray into enemies that just wipe the floor with you), no mindless quest markers, fully voiced is nice. Good variety of gear, unique items that actually feel unique, not just randomly generated. Cons: IT'S EARLY ACCESS! They're still updating it so there are still quite a few big, empty spaces. The terrain isn't perfect, there are holes and I've gone through the map once (used a spell to get out). Some sort of fast travel, not just clicking on the map but like a boatman or a mage or something would be nice to specific locations would be nice. Basically it's a work in progress but I'm having tonnes of fun playing as it is. Would recommend to anyone who enjoyed Morrowind/Oblivion.
Fun Morrowind like game. Exploration is super fun, lighting is really good and the game is filled with an endearing jank.
