The Land Of Lamia is short but sweet. The puzzles can be tricky, but they are doable. Only three brief levels, but each is well made. Only had one glitch on level 2 when I was trying to get one of the greyed areas for the puizzle near the top of the higher house section. Thomas seems to have fallen over the side of the hill or off the walkway by the house and left Lily up there. I was unable to progress in that situation, so after a couple minutes restarted the level. Since they are small, it wasn't a big deal. Certainly not worth more than 99 cents. It provided a couple hours of enjoyment. For me, the game didn't seem connected. Maybe intentionally, or maybe as each level was simply it's own experience. If not for the two children being in all the levels, it could very well be three separate games. Were the ideas for this game taken from an actual book? Graphics and Music are very good. Story, as I said, is disjointed. Figuring out how to bring it together more might be nice. Playability/controls has a small learning curve. Moving the two children around productively takes a little practive, but you should get the hang of it quickly. In hopes that the developer, Eddy Games, will produce another game that is more substantial and a little more tightly woven together story wise, I do recommend this game. Don't expect a long playtime, but expect what you do get to be interesting and moderately challenging. The third level even more so. The Land of Lamia experience/game gets 8 out of 10 from me. It has all the makings of a bigger, fuller, complete game, and I hope that a sequel will be just that.

The Land of Lamia durchaus spielen.

So this could potentially be a sweet and short puzzle game but it ends up being not-too-accessible and didn't really make me want to put my time into it. (This is one of these games I don't even remember how they got into my library but wanted to understand what's the deal with them) Technically speaking this is not the most impressive game you'll find, even for indie titles from around a decade ago, but it's not really bad, just cheap. I did find the graphics, music, and the whole mysterious guiding-book mechanics intriguing enough to at least want to finish this and give it a try. The thing is the controls are fairly unique and would really test your nerves. Basically you're controlling two characters - brother and sister - you'd move them both simultaneously by using the arrow keys. So far so good. The catch is, the sister would run fast by default. What do we do? We'd press Shift and then the brother would run faster than her. So basically that means throughout the entire game (which consists of 3 levels you'd probably bean in half an hour IF you know what you're doing) you'll have to "balance" their distance on and on. Looks like the puzzles are pretty much based on this mechanism and it's not completely bad, in my opinion, and I find it kind of unique and interesting. On the first level I have actually enjoyed the challenge of figuring out what to do and get the controls right. Second level - here you actually have to explore around the environment back and forth to understand what to do next and what's the objective exactly. Here I've quickly lost my patience, since this has stopped being fun.. When you add to the controls mechanics the weird and uncomfortable camera angles, this just makes you want to quit. And so I did :)
this game should have been titled Lame-ia it could have it would have but it just was'nt worth the price of admission back to the drawing board with this POS save your change for micky D's value menu
