Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 1 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The Inquisitor is a dark fantasy narrative adventure built around an unsettling alternate version of European religious history. Developed by The Dust S.A. and published by Kalypso Media, it presents a world in which Jesus survived the crucifixion and abandoned the doctrine of forgiveness in favor of vengeance. Centuries later, the faith that emerged from this event has become an authoritarian institution whose Inquisitors investigate heresy, punish sinners, and enforce religious law. It is a provocative premise that immediately separates the game from conventional medieval fantasy and gives its story a deliberately uncomfortable moral foundation. The player takes control of Mordimer Madderdin, an Inquisitor sent to the town of Koenigstein to investigate a series of disturbing events. Mordimer is not a traditional heroic detective. He represents an institution that considers intimidation, punishment, and violence acceptable tools of justice, leaving the player to decide how strongly he should embrace those methods. As the investigation expands, apparently ordinary crimes become connected to corruption, hidden agendas, religious conflict, and supernatural forces. The mystery gradually becomes larger than Mordimer's original assignment, while the town's inhabitants provide their own secrets and motivations. Investigation is the heart of the experience. Mordimer examines locations, searches for evidence, questions witnesses and suspects, follows clues, and attempts to determine what actually happened. The medieval environment gives this detective work an interesting character because there are no modern forensic conveniences. Progress instead depends on observation, conversations, environmental clues, and Mordimer's specialized abilities. The process is generally methodical rather than fast-paced, making the game better suited to players who enjoy exploring environments and following narrative threads than those looking for constant action. Dialogue choices add another layer to Mordimer's investigations. Players are repeatedly placed in situations where they can determine how aggressively he deals with suspects and other inhabitants of Koenigstein. Showing mercy may seem natural from a modern perspective, but the game's alternate society does not necessarily consider mercy the correct response. Conversely, punishment can satisfy Mordimer's official responsibilities while producing morally troubling consequences. This conflict between personal judgment and institutional authority is one of the game's more compelling ideas, particularly because Mordimer himself occupies such an ambiguous position. The supernatural side of the adventure becomes especially prominent through the Unworld. Mordimer can enter this mysterious realm and use it to discover information that cannot be obtained through ordinary investigation. It is more than a simple detective vision because entering it exposes him to supernatural dangers. These sequences strengthen the darker fantasy elements and prevent the story from feeling like a purely historical murder mystery. They also provide an effective visual and atmospheric contrast with Koenigstein's already grim physical environment. Combat occasionally interrupts the slower investigative structure. Mordimer uses his sword against enemies in real-time encounters that require attacking, defending, and responding to openings in an opponent's movements. Boss encounters provide larger confrontations, but combat is ultimately more functional than exceptional. It does enough to communicate that Mordimer is an experienced and dangerous Inquisitor, yet it lacks the depth and fluidity expected from games primarily designed around melee action. Anyone approaching The Inquisitor mainly for sword fighting may therefore find the experience limited. Its stronger qualities clearly lie in storytelling, exploration, investigation, and decision-making. Koenigstein itself contributes significantly to the atmosphere. Narrow streets, old buildings, religious imagery, dim interiors, and oppressive surroundings create a convincing sense of a community living beneath powerful religious authority. The visual presentation works especially well when the game moves into darker locations or supernatural territory. Mature content, including graphic violence, strong language, gore, and nudity, reinforces the adult tone. These elements are not merely there to make the world appear grim; they support a story concerned with brutality, corruption, fanaticism, punishment, and the abuse of authority. The pacing can be divisive. Long stretches may revolve around walking, examining locations, speaking with characters, and piecing together evidence before anything particularly dramatic occurs. Players comfortable with story-heavy adventures should find this appropriate, but those expecting a traditional action RPG may struggle with the slower rhythm. Some mechanics also feel less polished than the underlying concept deserves. The ambitious setting frequently promises something broader and deeper than the individual gameplay systems can consistently provide. Steam Deck compatibility is officially categorized as Playable rather than fully Verified. Performance with the default graphics configuration is considered suitable, and the game can run successfully on SteamOS. However, handheld players should expect compromises. Some functionality is not fully accessible through the default controller configuration, touchscreen interaction or a community controller layout may occasionally be useful, and text entry can require manually opening the virtual keyboard. Some interface text may also appear small, while certain prompts can display keyboard, mouse, or non-Steam Deck controller icons. It is therefore functional on the Deck, but the experience is less seamless than a fully optimized handheld release. Ultimately, The Inquisitor is most interesting because it is willing to build an entire adventure around a controversial alternate history and a protagonist whose authority constantly raises uncomfortable moral questions. Its detective work, branching decisions, supernatural investigations, and oppressive medieval atmosphere form a stronger package than its relatively ordinary combat. Mechanical roughness prevents the experience from fully realizing the enormous potential of its premise, but its unusual world and morally complicated storytelling give it a memorable identity. For players who appreciate slow-burning mysteries, dark fantasy, investigative adventures, morally ambiguous decisions, and unconventional alternate history, there is plenty worth experiencing. Those primarily interested in sophisticated combat or a conventional open-world RPG should adjust their expectations. It is an imperfect but distinctive narrative adventure that succeeds most when it allows its disturbing world, investigations, and difficult choices to take center stage. Rating: 7/10
Poor implementation, seems like an alpha version with almost no interactivity or logical progression. Won't keep the experienced gamer involved and won't attract casual players with no excitement. Its all static like it wasn't finished or something but they put it out anyway. i couldn't stand more than 22 minutes. Considering the cutting edge of modern gaming being what it is, I would choose to look upon this as a promising alpha or beta version at best. All the characters aside from the ones you are forced to interact with are totally static, zombie-like with no interaction possible. So you run around in a world where the biggest thing you're doing is searching for an npc to speak or do something other than ignore you. Here's a brief list of fun things that were NOT present in this game: fun npcs you can do ANYTHING other than stare at ladders are everywhere but you cannot use a single one same problem with all doors and gates except for a rare one here or there; basically anything that isn't you or the person you're supposed to talk to can be ignored because you can't interact anyway/ so this is not an open world despite giving one that impression. if anything it's more like a walking sim but (and i sat this being totally aware of the involved irony) I actually find those to be more fun that this. The premise was interesting: essentially take historical christian mythos and turn it upside down as an alternate history wherein everything seems opposite, especially religiously. This ain't one for the orthodox religion crowd, i'll say that much and leave it there. The cost was about right for what it currently offers, I suppose but that is really just a product of the enviro it is published in. Who knows what it might become if the devs keep working on it? No Man's Sky showed us all what can happen if you don't give up on a good product just because some fatcat corpo penny slavers tell us to do so. Here's hoping it gets some more attention so it can live up to its potential. 2 of 5 stars for this one. Not recomended for the average player.
