Absolutely great game, great story, even better characters (ily Lin). You can really tell the amount of passion that was poured into this game, and it deserved every bit of praise it gets. I wish there was more of these characters to experience! Pros: Incredible voice acting Goofy and fun characters A very engaging story right to the end. Neutrals: Story can be a bit confusing in the middle. Personally I love the idea of piecing a bunch of memories together like a puzzle then seeing them all, but it can be a bit laborious. There's a large amount of unanswered questions that you might have about the characters. You're only given a snapshot of these people through someone else's eyes, so you won't know *everything* about every character. But don't let that detract from these character's charm. Cons: I can't think of anything seriously upsetting about this game. After all, It's a story, and every author has the right to tell their story how they want.
This prolly the first vn ive played to full completion(mostly anyway) And i think i loved it all and resonated with the characters alot. Especially with Ader and Sep. Eka and Eina might be my favorites. The characters and witty and really layered, Top notch voice acting, I cant commit much of it to memory but love the lore. And found the big picture of it all to be something like. "Being honest and frank with yourself is important, You'll only be detriment to yourself when lie to yourself, when you try to escpae responsibilties or the things in life that hard and uncomfortable to confront, hiding and running away cant always be answer"

a ton of words for a tiny story protagonist idiotic and cowardly barely any likeable character normaly i wouldn't care to write a review, but since theese ahole devs use (us) southerner stereotype for idiots while beeing *very* progressive, forced a negativ review

This is the best VN I have ever played. The story and characters are incredibly well written and very engaging. I could not recommend The Hayseed Knight more. I will be excitedly waiting for a sequel.
A delightful, *very* queer romantic-fantasy-comedy story with surprisingly deep character and lorebuilding. The opening scenes may feel familiar but by the end your understanding of the world and plot will look like Pepe Silvia in the best way possible.
This is the first time I write a review for a game and just as a disclamer, I worked in this videogame as a translator and doing historical consultancy. The dev and I are friends, but I bought my copy of The Hayseed Knight. The Hayseed Knight is one of my favorite visual novels and one that I continous think about it. It is a work of art into which Maxi has poured his heart and soul and you can see it in every part of this game. The art is gorgeous and evocative, the worldbuilding is so creative and based on my favorite period of history, al-Andalus or medival muslim Iberia, the characters are so memorable and interesting and the voice acting is fenomenal and so well directed. I can't get too much in the story without saying any spoilers, but it is fun, dramatic and full of hope. I can't recommend this game enough; you'll want to complete the game in one sitting and start all over again.
I typically don't write reviews until I'm finished with the game, but this game (a VN, which I don't usually play) has me hooked and impressed. The art and music are amazing and unique compared to other games, the characters are extremely memorable, and the writing (as of my review) made me laugh more times than I can count. I'm not done with the story as of this review, but I'm going to wholeheartedly recommend this game. It's definitely going to have me hooked for some time.
Arguably, the best visual novel almost nobody has played. Clearly a labour of love and it took forever to make. It's cute, it's queer, it'll make you feel things, bad and good, and it lives up to it's inspirations. To love, is to be changed. Highly recommended for anyone willing to have a good romp!
This game is the best visual novel I've ever read - the characters spoke to me on a level I didn't expect going in to it, with their writing bolstered by the fantastic writing and voice acting on top of it. It's a story I'm going to be thinking about for a very long time.
