it Is 70hrs of reading so consider that before buying (and the first, like, 20 hours of that is slow) BUT it has some of the best narrative payoff of any game Ever. also the art and music and characters. everything amazing. my fave game of all time :D
This game is such a slog that it took me over two years to finish it. I only finished it because my Ace Attorney needs are being unfulfilled by Capcom, and this is the closest thing available. This is easily the worst game in the whole AA franchise. I got to the point where I was either speedreading or straight up holding the SKIP button on most of the dialogue happening between the courtroom parts. I see a lot of the other negative reviews have already gone into detail about why this game is a slog so I won't bother repeating them here. Just look at the most helpful negative reviews.

逆転裁判シリーズは１～４と検事２作までクリアし、４が合わなくて触れなくなっていましたが、友人に大逆転は面白いとオススメされてプレイ。 ピンチを迎えた時のどう逆転するんだ？という悩ましさと、矛盾と証拠品を見つけた時の気づきの快感というシリーズの特徴も健在で、 全10話の大ボリュームで紡がれるストーリーは素晴らしく、終盤に山場を迎えた時の”熱さ”とラストまでプレイし終えた時の読後感が最高でした。 最後には、主要キャラ全キャラ好きになっているくらいどのキャラも人間臭くていいキャラでした。特にバロックとホームズが好きすぎます。 また逆転裁判の新作を遊びたいなと思う作品でした。
For those that are into the genre, I believe it is the absolute peak of Ace Attorney. Interesting new mechanics, incredible soundtrack, and some of the best plot twists in the entire series. I would recommend anyone that have any interest in playing this gem to go as blindly as possible.

Just finished it last night after playing it on and off over the course of a long long while This is certainly one of my favorite collections from the Ace Attorney franchise! The music is WAY too good, I love the inclusion of the harpsichord into several of the tracks. I love all the characters (BAROK VAN ZIEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (HERLOCK SHOLMMMEESS!!!) several of the cases are really really good, I will say the first game felt as if it starts off slow but if you have the patience to see it through the payoff is wonderful! All in all, very pleased to have experienced TGAA! Definitely recommend if you enjoy Ace Attorney!
An absolute masterpiece that I would recommend anyone, regardless of what style of game they like, to play. The story is deeply connected between all 10 episodes which I think is a huge positive. The characters grow on you over time and yeah they are sometimes a bit over the top but that is often the case with these AA games. I would say that even that is a positive, it is pretty charming and is part of what makes these games unique. I think it does not surpass the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney trilogy but it's pretty damn close and it's absolutely a game that I will never forget.
Após um tempo, percebi que minha antiga review do jogo não expressou completamente o quanto eu amo essa obra. Esse é o melhor jogo que eu já joguei na minha vida. TGAA pega tudo o que a franquia Ace Attorney tem de bom e simplesmente MELHORA. Decidi voltar a jogar pra matar a saudade e, amigos, isso é simplesmente uma obra de arte. Diferente de uma boa parte da franquia, esse jogo é em 3D. Gostaria de destacar como esse jogo utiliza os recursos com MAESTRIA. Eu amo os modelos dos personagens e como eles são usados de forma tão criativa; os diferentes ângulos, iluminação e simplesmente ver o personagem ANDANDO numa franquia que antes era só um png com uma caixa de texto (que já tava muito legal, porque o Shu Takumi manda muito bem escrevendo histórias) é incrível. As mecânicas do jogo, como a Dance of Deduction e a Summation Examination, usam os modelos 3D muito bem e te deixa imerso na narrativa. Os cenários também são muito legais. O character desing também é muito bom. Olha o modelo do Barok van Zieks, aquilo é simplesmente ARTE. Nenhum idioma tem palavras que consigam descrever o quão incríveis são os personagens desse jogo. Se na franquia original você já consegue facilmente gostar dos personagens, seja porque são muito carismáticos ou porque são muito bem escritos, você vai gostar de TODOS (ou quase todos, porque o Shamspeare divide opiniões) os personagens do jogo. Todo personagem tem motivações válidas e você consegue até se identificar com alguns. São também personagens muito humanos; eles cometem erros e realmente tem emoções. O jogo também tem a melhor trilha sonora da franquia. Eu não sei que bruxaria fizeram pra TODA música ser legal e memorável. As músicas tema combinam com os personagens (a música tema do Barok que o diga) e combinam com as cenas. Observe como sua percepção das músicas muda conforme você vai vendo a história do jogo. Aliás, se acostume com a música tema do Professor. Você sabia que o jogo tem cenas animadas e dublagem? Eu gosto muito dessas cenas, são muito bonitas e a dublagem também é ótima! Os dubladores deixaram um sotaque britânico na dublagem, já que grande parte do jogo se passa no Reino Unido. Ah, e sim, esse jogo é do tipo "Mas veja bem, você tem que saber inglês pra jogar". isso eu nao tenho como defender nao. Mesmo assim, dá teus pulo e joga. É muito bom. ...Eu sei que é meio repetitivo eu ficar falando "Nossa, mas esse jogo é o melhor da franquia no quesito X e também o melhor no quesito Y", mas é verdade, irmão! TGAA tem a melhor história da franquia. Ela é fechadinha e o plot não é previsível; muito pelo contrário, você se surpreende demais! Infelizmente, falar da história desse jogo é um campo minado, porque QUALQUER detalhe que eu der é possivelmente um spoiler. Evite AO MÁXIMO spoilers não apenas de TGAA, mas da franquia Ace Attorney num geral. A graça do jogo é você ir descobrindo o que aconteceu, você ir lendo os diálogos, lê uma frase em específico e fica tipo "maluco do céu, e agora?". Aliás, você não precisa ter jogado os outros Ace Attorney pra jogar TGAA, mas eu recomendo porque os outros jogos são muito bons e esse aqui tá cheio de referência. Observe como, depois de você aprender toda a história e rejogar, vai ter MUITO foreshadowing que você percebe. Que jogão, amigos, que jogão. O jogo é sério quando precisa ser e é engraçado quando precisa ser também. Ótimo jogo em todos os quesitos possíveis. 10/10. Jogue pelo Herlock Sholmes. Vale a pena.
One of the best and most memorable games I have every played. The story starts off slow, and from case to case it certainly has its ups and downs, but stick with it. The final act blew my mind and gave me goosebumps. The set up, choreography of the sequence of events, the music, and the build up of the characters resolve (pun intended). It is worth the time, highly recommend.
