About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a dystopian world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, AI automata, cybernetically enhanced soldiers, human-machine hybrids, and relentless automated warfare. There's two sides to this war, and you're not on either.

The game is difficult in the best possible sense. It does not punish you simply for playing; instead, the challenge emerges naturally from the interplay between RNG and the consequences of your own decisions. I cannot yet judge what the late game looks like, but after ten hours I still find it satisfying that a run can end after only six minutes—and that surviving with even a modest amount of loot can feel like a genuine victory. There is clearly still a great deal of work ahead, but I already appreciate what the game is trying to achieve. Its scope is remarkably ambitious, and even in its current state, that ambition is both visible and compelling.
The game is rough. Is it enjoyable? Definitely so. It is a really amazing extraction shooter, and it is currently in a good place. The AI is rough, and the clipping hitboxes are a problem, but when the game works as intended it is amazing. The atmosphere is a match made in heaven and it's not even close. I do however recommend the game on a sale, full price might be a bit steep. The faction system as well as the all-out-war setting on the maps are something you rarely see, keep in mind this is a RPG where you roleplay as the victim.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Down in the filth fighting it out against grotesque nightmares of the future.....Ai will get us there maybe not today or next week but all it takes is 1 skynet and forever winter will be inevitable.
Спасибо разработчику что квесты в игре напроч не работают. Один и тот же квест пытаюсь сделать, но его просто напросто не защитывает. Выполняю все условия а результата в конце рейда 0. Спасибо наигрался.
It's not easy, you will die, and the environment and gameplay are awesome. Gritty, striking, and kewl
To start the atmosphere, the music, the world, the lore, and the character, creature/mech designs are all out of this world. Some in the sense of being amazing, and others actually feeling like they are actually not from this world, more like something out of a dystopian alien colony. Here is what happened within my first hour or so: Finished the Tutorial, finally reached the surface... Then there were helicopters firing above, a skirmish between two factions ahead of me. A dark lumbering mecha type monstrosity to my left. With zombie like robot runners to my right. I tried sneaking around, and had thought I had just dodged the runners by a slim margin. Only to turn slightly and see my view obscured by a tank's barrel. I died. Lost everything I had, and yet somehow want to do it all over again. This game is amazing so far. I do not have very many hours in it yet (Probably not even a full hour) but I was invited to, and played the pre-release beta. It was the game I was most excited to play in 2024. However during the beta I realized with even the lowest settings I could not play it. Lots of lag, freezing, falling through the map. From what I understand there is still some of that, but I have not run into any of that yet after purchase. I can keep everything on medium or higher, I get great frame rates, etc. I think they really worked on optimizing it, and now I can finally play my most anticipated release of the past few years. THANK YOU FUN DOG!!!!
It's a very difficult game to survive as a solo player, and could do with some difficulty options. The game itself is actually very impressive, with a huge variety of enemies that are only too happy to kill you if they see you. There are times when I've survived for an hour, only to get ambushed by an overwhelming amount of creatures so close to an extraction, which can put a real dampener on the enjoyment. Optimization isn't the best, even for a high end rig like my own, so hopefully that will be improved over time. It's a bit like Arc Raiders on steroids. One mistake and it's all over for you. You lose everything when you die, but staying alive is quite the challenge, even for a gaming vet like myself. Definitely worth buying, and there's an enormous amount of positives. Be warned though, you'll close the game down a lot in frustration, as your chances of getting out alive are low. Want an adrenaline rush? This might be what you're looking for, but not for inexperienced casual players, as you definitely need to make good decisions. Co-op is probably a good idea.
Listen.... You might just absolutely hate the gameplay, its niche. Just live the atmosphere, you can run with nothing or go balls blazing with more gear than you can afford. Water is EXTREMELY EASY to get an maintain by going into beginner zones with a better rig... it takes maybe 2hrs into game to do this, do not fear the water scandals in the reviews, the old system changed a long while ago. Yes you can run in and out in 90seconds but thats kind of the point. When you read the first people posts of the past going "ITS PURE STEALTHY AND SPOOKY" NO but the "your not that guy pal" does stand. Its about understanding where you are in your skill caliber and your wheelhouse to determine how each run into the breach will go, will you slaughter everyone loose your rep but gain value, money, and fame or will you skulk around, taking out targets as needed only and grabbing the corpses possessions as you pass them. there is jank but its not awful, sure you will hit your desk a couple times, 1 for a bug, 5 for your own mistake and blame it on "mechanics" over your genuine forgetfulness or own new experience of something happening. You will never forget your first run solo or coop into a night shift where it felt so lifeless and mounds of corpses around, to be chased down by half functional seething cyborgs, dogs and a mother who will take your intestines out to rebuild a lifeless skull of a cyborg for Eurasia. its good, its not the extraction shooter of tarkov standards, its not some kind of pvp reward and repeat, its a good mix of what a cadian would go through on a plagued hive world but the grey knights are also there killing everyone.
