About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a dystopian world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, AI automata, cybernetically enhanced soldiers, human-machine hybrids, and relentless automated warfare. There's two sides to this war, and you're not on either.

Reviews
Steam needs a neutral rating, as Forever winter needs one. I've modified this review over the hours I've played, and I think that's basically the norm as Forever winter is a game that's different. My review basically went from, "I hated it but I paid for it, so I gotta do my due diligence" to "I think I kinda understand what is going on here?" I think Forever winter needs a lot of work, I won't deny that, but it has some charm to it, charm being an odd word to use for such a grim dark experience. Maybe fundog will pull out with the win, maybe not, but the experience is worth it, but you will be frustrated. You will be frustrated not because of fair gameplay mechanics or even difficult mechanics, but mechanics that were added and never bug fixed. Some of the most annoying and bug ridden mechanics have issues that should of been fixed ages ago. Here is a list, along with a small explanation that is in no way exhaustive. Gravestone moves when you die-------- this makes corpse runs comically difficult, as your items are placed somewhere near where you died. What a disaster.. This is the the only way you can collect your hard earned items. Fun dog gave us the ability to grab our stuff, die again as long as you pick it up, sadly it moves around which is just due to spaghetti coders. enemy detection is sadly all over the place----- When the sneaking and detection system works, it's amazing. When the detection system fails, which is honestly so consistent, I'm unsure why it was implemented in such a poor state. Giant mechs won't see you at all, infantry will allow you to walk or sprint past so close you bump shoulders, drones flying overhead will ignore you almost entirely it seems, but a random eurasian infantry will spot you, at night, in the shadows and fog from 300 meters away. This system breaks immersion completely. Some quest items are incredibly hard to find, while other quest items are far to easy, they're all supposed to be random!----- sums it up. Forever winter is plagued with issues, "but it's alpha!" Fun dog released this years ago, stop adding spaghetti coded random stuff and fix the stuff they have so far.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good game, still some coop bugs.
Setting for the win. Gunplay is good too.
Been here since demo and before games come along way. Not one to back studios publicly but FUNDOG have created something that has made me a stout defender and professor for this art and genre and style thanks Miles and Co.

Damn, this is an artform in the making... You are against all odds when on the surface; adversaries pouring in from all angles and above. A lot of people I have heard speak of this game have said "you are not the main character of this world" - and it's true! Here you are trivial, regardless of what region you visit - met with high-risk, high-rewards as you make a path and hope to survive. The gameplay: I get impressions and think somewhat of the movement flow and FOV from Helldivers 2, fused with survival elements of Escape from Tarkov, and topped off with the insistent call for stealth and trench warfare like it's 1914. You make your way back home with your collected goods, but ultimately any run for the tunnels has not been an identical experience. Each day I have played, it almost felt like I was navigating the catacombs of a broken world. Choose to play solo, ♥♥♥♥ can get intense when you scout things out. However, when joined by friends or strangers with mics, there's more hope to pull through as the complexity of the battlefield closes in on you. So far, 50 hours felt like I'm just scratching the surface, but I've got a good impression of Fundog's work and plan to keep going. Sure, there are bugs - whatever. But I've enjoyed learning, stashing, and even dying (sometimes in the dumbest ways possible).
I Love this game with all my heart
i dont remember but i uninstalled it for a reason
there is a bug stopping me from progressing the "a cost will be paid" quest, it doesnt let me take the head of mother courage, a message "you dont have an active quest for this part, or you already have this part" keeps appearing, even though I HAVE THE QUEST! FUNDOG! HELP ME! I WANT TO PLAY THE NEW CONTENT edit, thanks fundog, for the hotfix, i have changed my review to positive, hope you continue working on this amazing world of the forever winter.
