About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a dystopian world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, AI automata, cybernetically enhanced soldiers, human-machine hybrids, and relentless automated warfare. There's two sides to this war, and you're not on either.

Rough and unpolished, punishing beyond fun. Enemy ai: dumb and goofy. I want to like playing this but the only redeeming quality is the art direction, everything else is just frustrating.
What makes this game bad is having to constantly traverse a map, then another map, then another map, then another map, then another map, and running into dead ends along the way constantly. It takes a run and makes it last forever, and you simply can not pause the game to get up and even walk away to use the restroom. You will spend an hour outwitting or outrunning enemies just to come across a drone that will spot you and melt you with weapons fire in seconds, or one cyborg that spots you that you have to kill that alerts everything on the entire map.... when you have a half mil worth of gear in your bag. You will lose everything. You can not possibly escape all these enemies and you will never have enough ammo to deal with them all. Game feels far more punishing than rewarding, and all I can say is I am glad I got it on sale cause I was looking forward to this one for a while and it just missed the mark completely. Also, just throwing this out there, the default character skins/designs look absolutely terrible. It's like some weird grim dark version of concord lmao. The extraction element/design of this game is what makes it feel awful, the water system feels awful, and losing all your gear with no insurance system is stupid as ♥♥♥♥. Having a compass with multiple markers that all look identical and no idea of which one leads home is absurd. Just make this game a more open ended squad shooter without the extraction element in the same world and dispose of the water system and you would have a hit honestly.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Attention developers. You guys suck at making games, but the game concept is insanely awesome. Please improve the animations soon; the animations need to look good for effective marketing. The weapon mounting and gripping postures are terribly awkward, and the movements of the characters, helicopters, and exosuits look like they're being dragged around by a computer mouse. And there are so many bugs—fix them quickly. For example, when transitioning to a new map, ammo like cryo rounds in the inventory just vanishes. And switching weapons causes the cryo effect to stop applying. If I run into any more issues while playing, I will keep updating my review.
I feel like I will genuinely enjoy this game but it runs like booty on a 5090
Yikes. This game is in rough shape. Aiming can send the camera into a frenzy going from 3rd to 1st person. The menu's UI is janky at best. The concept is cool, but damn this game has no polish for how long its been in development
Lmao
Fun but full of bugs and crashes.
Good game with interesting vibes and design, the design is probably what holds it up, the maps are cool and interesting, lots of cool moments and things to look at while you play, but some annoying flaws that'll stop me playing it for much longer than I have already. Probably the most annoying thing about the game is it could be great but it has so many flaws that feel like they could be so easily fixed or at least improved on without much work. 1. Terrible UI, basic things aren't clear like selecting missions, or going from one vendor to another (e.g. if I'm viewing one vendor, but I want to look at a different one, currently I just go to a completely different tab like 'Character' then back to the 'Vendors' tab, who knows how to go back to vendors but I got tired of clicking random boxes and them not being buttons) 2. Progression is pretty lacking and boring 3. The prestige system isn't fun - You either prestige and don't make use really of any of the 'skill points' because you're constantly prestiging every 1-2 raids and resetting, or you use skill points and miss out on prestiging. Also, the skill points are really boring and just flat 10% upgrades 4. Night Shift - Cool but really not fun when it's so random, and pretty ♥♥♥♥ when you're slogging it out as a new player with no silencer, collecting items for quests, and then being thrown into a Night Shift where you don't have the ammo to make it through and don't know the maps well enough to avoid the endless horde of cyborgs. 3/6 of my raids tonight were night shift and then I quit because farming Tunnels for Innards upgrade items and then being thrown into night shift swamp repeatedly is tiring. Are you a war game or a zombie game? Pick one or seriously lessen the occurrence of night shift. 5. The tutorial doesn't explain much of anything. 6. A lot of the early missions like "extract in under 90 seconds" feel pretty pointless. 7. Character skins randomising on death gets annoying. Maybe it would be interesting if there was something that made each 'life' matter, like the longer your stay alive the extra skills you get or bonuses or visual changes. 8. Vendors don't make it obvious what attachments are for what guns. 9. Water becomes pointless as soon as you get a new rig and extract 3 per raid. 10. Having the "180 key" thing on by default is horrible and I almost quit before I even got into the game because I thought it was bugging out, constantly flipping my view while trying to backpedal fight against cyborgs, felt like I had anti-aim-assist, but really it was just I was holding shift and S, constantly causing my pov to 180 to the wrong direction, because what other game has a feature like that on by default? 11. Does DLSS do anything? Causes graphical glitches and FPS is better without it. 12. For a game that talks up about how you're a maggot little scavenger that's starving, poor and gimped, you get showered with money and loot immediately. 13. The 'cyborg mommy' trope feels like a really desperate attempt at virality and trivialises the whole "depressing endless war" grimdark stuff. Considering the atmosphere/lore/story are the main things that attract people to the game, it's a weird choice to then dive into weeb desperation 14. The AI is bad, I expected it to be, but the "6 soldiers walking in a circular patrol around 4 pillars over and over and over" is below the already low expectations I had for them. You don't notice it so much in Scorched and Ashen as AI are mostly always fighting, but in the bigger maps or tunnels, constantly seeing conga lines of AI doing predictable patrol routes feels bad. Add some idle animations and pay 5 guys minimum wage to record voicelines for a week on a blue yeti or something, jesus.
Атмосфера на высоте, играть в команде одно удовольствие. На багги и остальную недоработку можно закрыть глаза. Ибо времяпровождение в основном в игре оставляет только позитив)
