Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.29/day in the week to Jul 30 → 4.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I want to make a comparison between different aspects of TEW1 and TEW2 to clarify which aspect I believe each game does better. 1. Visuals And Overall Atmosphere: The first game in my opinion has one of the most unique and visually appealing aesthetics of any survival horror game I've ever seen. The gritty atmosphere is probably one of my most favorite parts of the original game; it saddens me that TEW2 very clearly strayed far away from this gritty, bloody, and mysterious atmosphere that the first game practically perfected 2. Mystery: This one also goes to the original game because of how unique the concept was when they initially made this game. No other game at the time had a concept that was remotely close to TEW1, and honestly it was so interesting on my first playthrough of TEW1 trying to figure out what the ♥♥♥♥ was going on and trying to piece parts of the puzzle together. On the other side, I feel like it isn't that fair to just ♥♥♥♥ on TEW2 for having much less mystery because it is basically a continuation of TEW1 meaning that we already know what STEM is and the fact that it can be manipulated by certain people, yet another thing that TEW2 does poorly is that there is literally no mystery left at all. Everything is basically given to you whether it is an exposition dump by a random character you meet or the plethora of notes that are scattered around. The incomplete notes and having to attempt to make sense of what was happening was also one of the things that made TEW1 such a memorable experience in my opinion. 3. The Characters: TEW2 characters barely had any personality and it just felt like an excuse to either provide you with information about the story or just loot. For example Julian Sykes was literally just an excuse to provide you with an (optional) side mission just for the sake of loot and a weapon, even his dialogue was alright at best. The Other characters in the story were alright, but again their only purpose was to act as a sacrifice to help Sebastian achieve his goal. However, I do like that Kidman in this game actually seems more sympathetic and genuine when it comes to interacting with Sebastian compared to the one in the first game. Another thing I enjoyed is how Sebastian seems more humanized in this game than he was in the last game, and the overall emotion in this game felt much stronger especially nearing the end of the story. 3. Gameplay: This one goes to TEW2 but not by a whole lot. I enjoyed the versatility of the combat in this game especially with the semi-open world layout as it allowed you to approach fights in this game in different ways instead of being restricted to only one method of combat. Although people tend to like the combat in this game due to it being less buggy, I still believe the combat in this game is very buggy. Not to mention the fact that stealth in this game is absolutely busted in this game. In my first few hours I was able to figure out that hiding in bushes would instantly break LOS and almost guarantee you a free kill on an enemy, and it was very easy to abuse. Additionally, jumping or falling off of stuff is super buggy in this game and I have witnessed some weird ass ♥♥♥♥ happen while playing. Even with all the issues in this game, the increased weapon variety, upgrades, different approaches to combat, and the overall design of the maps to compliment that makes this game more enjoyable especially on repeat playthroughs. 4.Map Design: In my opinion, this one is 50/50 as I believe each game has its own strength when it comes to map design. TEW1's claustrophobic map design compliments its gritty, artistic style very well. It also compliments the combat of the first game. On the other hand, I enjoyed parts of the semi-open world design that the 2nd game went with like exploring surroundings, finding loot, getting rid of enemies methodically, yet it feels like the execution wasn't that great and reusing the same map multiple times made it less interesting as the story progressed, but I liked some of the underground bits with Theodore. The Marrow was a great concept, but again the execution wasn't great. 5. Bosses: This one goes to TEW1 by a significant amount. The bosses in TEW1 are iconic whether it is in their gameplay or their visual appearance. They actually felt like a threat and were scary and interesting in countering them, but TEW2 felt like a big downgrade compared to the first game. For example, Stefano was such an underutilized villain. He was portrayed as a sadistic, artistic, and extremely powerful villain. However, the boss fight against him is so easy and I genuinely find that ridiculous. I couldn't believe how easy he was to beat even when we were shown how strong he was on multiple occasions through the number of people he killed and how they were killed. Theodore was also a boring boss. Not only did they just copy two boss fights from the original game from him, but they also somehow managed to make those boss fights less interesting and easier compared to how they were in the first game. One of the only things I actually liked about Theodore's part in the story were the locations we were sent to by them as they were the most reminiscent of the original TEW1 artistic style. 6. Emotion: I talked about this briefly in the 3rd section of my review, but I liked TEW2 when it came to emotion more. Sebastian in the first game didn't feel like a human. When we witness the events unfold around him and the craziness of the situation, he doesn't seem bothered at all and rarely seems to express his emotions or say anything at all, which could be seen as a positive as it increased the mystery, and that kind of tipped me off. However, in TEW2 we actually get to connect with him a bit more and get to feel sympathy for him because of what he went through. Slowly watching him fight his way through STEM all over again and go through even more hardships while confronting his deepest traumas at the same time was such a great experience compared to the first game. It really hit me hard at the end of the game when he finally reunited with Myra just to have to let her go again after losing her for such a long time. He never gets to say what he wanted to say to her, but it is so satisfying when the story concludes and he finally makes it out with Lily, and Kidman which allows him to finally be able to live instead of just survive. 7. Story Pacing: If I am being honest with you, I think both of these games have meh story pacing especially when it comes to around the middle of the game. I found myself getting a bit bored in both of these games when it reached a certain point because it felt like the story was being dragged out for no apparent reason, but I believe TEW2 did do a better job at story pacing because although the story was being dragged out for a bit around the 75% mark of the game, it started to speed up which made it more bearable to hold out until the end of the story. Conclusion: This game is a decent and enjoyable experience for those who also enjoyed the first game, but it doesn't feel as charming as the first game. It trades out the gritty, scary, survival horror atmosphere for a more modernized feeling game. The combat is more versatile and can be more enjoyable on repeat runs. Story felt more emotional but lacks the same mystery that made the first game so special. The map design has its pros and cons with the main con being the overall repetitiveness of the semi-open world areas for being reused. Overall, it's a decent game that does have some bugs but is still a very enjoyable game with its combat and different areas. It feels a bit more generic than the original, but the game has a better overall quality compared to the first one. Would definitely recommend if you enjoyed the first game (Personal) Score : 7/10 - 8/10
I was one heck of a game!
juegazo, lo jugue al uno en la ps3 y no esperaba menos de este
didnt even play much of the game but it highkey sucks. the only good thing about it is the sometimes-cool atmosphere. dialogue is so stiff and unnatural, and i found the gameplay to be boring. pretty much just walking simulator with a side of bad story.

SPOILERS??? This is a good game, yes. I initially loved the graphics and was very excited to play TEW2 since I absolutely love the first game. However, it wasn't as striking as the first game. The characters don't have the depth they had in the first game, and I honestly got disappointed by how they flattened so much of the lore into just “saving daughter.” As I went deeper into the story, I actually found myself getting bored. Everything is too straightforward, there is too much exposition of the lore and yapping, and the mystery that made the first game so interesting is mostly gone. Sebastian is whining all the time. The game also became really, really rushed toward the later chapters. Some story developments felt like they were introduced and resolved way too quickly. I just wanted to see more of Ruvik/Leslie, Joseph but I was left with a family drama. I got tired of hearing the word Lily. There was literally only one interesting villain in this game for me unfortunately. Most of the enemy designs felt dull, pointless. It's also much less scary than the first game. There are a few good horror sections, but overall it feels much more focused on action and boss fights than the disturbing atmosphere and psychological horror of TEW1. I really miss the nightmarish, mysterious lore and character writing of the first game. I went into this wanting more of that world, but instead it felt like the series had been simplified into a much more straightforward “save your daughter” story. I'm genuinely sad because I loved the first game so much, and I really wanted to love this one too. In the first game I was so curious about what was next document about to reveal in the lore, in this game though they were same things told by NPCs. I only collected them for the sake of achievements. In TEW1, I was constantly trying to piece things together and wondering what everything meant. In TEW2, I rarely felt that same curiosity because the game was constantly explaining itself. The semi-open-world system itself didn't bother me, though. I actually think that part was fine. My main problems are the story, pacing, character depth, horror, and how much of the mystery/lore was lost. I still have so much more to say about this game, honestly. I really want a 3rd game, please make it happen even though many years have passed. I need more.
