Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 1 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
You are a knight and adventurer. Having learned that necromancer mages are hiding in the forest, you decide to go and see them. Your interest is piqued by stories of the numerous artifacts kept in their lair.
However, within the fortress itself, mighty warriors await, having honed their combat skills over centuries. And even you will have a hard time breaking through their ranks. Numerous secret rooms hidden throughout the fortress contain artifacts, rare weapons, and magic. All this will help you defeat the champions of the dark forces and reach the leaders.
The fight will require fast reflexes, knowledge of your opponent's movements and movesets, and precise timing to raise a shield or strike back. Inside the fortress, you can find various weapons that can change your combat style. However, success in any case depends on your personal skill and precise actions, and to some extent on your luck in discovering the secrets of the dark fortress.

Project Features.
- Roguelike Element: If the knight fails in battle, the fortress's conquest begins anew. However, you keep any weapons and artifacts you've found.
- Sword Fighting: The combat system emphasizes melee weapons. You'll need good reflexes to time your shield and strike.
- Items: A number of weapons and items are hidden throughout the fortress to aid you in battle.
- Secret Locations: A particularly observant knight can discover secret corridors and halls, sometimes to significant advantage. Sometimes, they lead to their death.
- Destructibility: Sometimes it's just nice to smash something with your mighty sword and see the debris fly in all directions!

Technical Aspects.
- I wrote the engine code in C++; it's a software renderer. This means that all image rendering is done using the CPU.
- I used Code::Blocks, GCC, VisualStudio, Sleepy, Blender, GIMP, and Audacity to create the code, models, textures, and sounds.
- The project is generally inspired by games from the 90s, the era of early 3D on PC.
- Important: the game's lighting and physics are calculated using the CPU, so the project requires a fairly powerful processor.

The Deepest Castle has a few moments I enjoyed, but overall it feels dull and frustrating. The visuals are muted, the environments lack color, and the game’s best feature, the destructible environments, isn’t enough to carry the experience. My biggest issue is the stamina system. Your stamina regenerates painfully slowly, while enemies seem to have infinite stamina and never stop attacking. You can block and parry, but enemies swing so fast that you often get hit during the riposte animation. Combat ends up feeling unfair rather than challenging, and definitely not in the satisfying, intentional Souls‑like way. There are also design quirks that make the game feel clunky. If you fire your magic wand before fully entering a room, the gate can close and lock you out until you kill the enemies inside. Boss fights are even worse: tiny arenas, slow stamina regen, and sometimes no regen at all depending on your items. You end up unable to block, unable to attack, and basically forced to accept a loss. Compared to Cubes and Knights, this feels like a step backward. That game let you explore a large castle. Here, it’s: kill a couple enemies → walk forward → loading screen → kill a few more → loading screen → boss → loading screen → die → repeat. The constant room transitions break the flow completely. I do like the destructible environments and the expanded weapon selection, and the graphics have a unique style. But the game just doesn’t feel good to play. The cool moments shown in the trailer, big bloody sword gashes, enemies crashing through floors, barely happen in normal gameplay, and when they do, enemies vanish so quickly after being hit that you wouldn’t even notice those gashes if the trailer hadn’t highlighted them. I genuinely hope the developer succeeds, because the ideas are good. But unless major updates happen, I don’t see myself sticking around.
The Deepest Castle is a really fun game and is just the right enough of depth for the price tag. I gave The Deepest Castle a shot during the Steam Next Fest and enjoyed the demo, so I grabbed the full game on release. The Deepest Castle has a lot of cool elements to it, and while it won't revolutionise a genre, it has enough in it to make it a fun experience. My favourite part is the secrets. There's a lot hidden within The Deepest Castle, including some puzzles that involve navigating some cool non-Euclidean geometry to get the prize. I had a lot of fun poking and prodding things to find the hidden secrets, and the game has some smart design choices that hint at the existence of a hidden room without outright declaring them. I think my biggest problem was understanding how the game flowed. One example was a locked door with a sword icon that appeared in every boss room. Usually, these doors open if you either own the item depicted on the door, or if you hit all the buttons with the same icon on the door. However, after looking for sword buttons and acquiring a different sword than the beginner item, it still wouldn't open. It took me a while to discover that it only stays open if you defeat the boss without taking damage. I wouldn't grab The Deepest Castle expecting a revolutionary masterpiece, but for the price tag and the hours I got out of the game, it was a fun, challenging dungeon romp that I'd easily recommend. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3782889592
Awesome. I am always a fan of software rendering, especially for 3d games. The quality of this dev's games increases with every release. One request though: We REQUIRE more wagon driving.
Серега, ну это реально имбуля, саунда бы навалить и 10 из 10, а так 9 из 10
This is awesome, another timeless masterpiece from the author. Sergey, keep up the good work!
