I can't believe this. After Golf Club Nostalgia, which would have been a perfect game if the gameplay itself hadn't been terrible, the studio comes back with a game with superb visuals, exciting soundtrack, interesting story, fantastic atmosphere, and... wait for it... terrible gameplay. This time it's not golf, it's with platforming, but with the very same imprecise and inconsistent controls, then some silly logic and way too many unavoidable deaths (without knowing what comes in advance). Guys, for Christ's sake, you're really talented, just not at making video games... Either bring someone into the team with actual video game design experience, or create cartoon series - I promise I'd watch them. So sorry to downvote this...
I am a massive fan of platformers, and enjoy many challenging ones such as super meat boy or N++. This game is deeply frustrating because this game expects you to have played it before. Most obstacles are not avoidable and will kill you unless you already know they are there. There are places where an enemy is just off screen on the edge of the platform you have to jump on, or segments where you ride a mine cart and the only indication to jump appears the second you would have to do it. This game expects you to die at obstacles not because they are hard, but instead because the game makes sure you cannot avoid them until you’re already died to it before. I love challenging platformers, but the challenge needs to come from the level design, not the game artificially slowing you down in chase sequences so that you die to it repeatedly. There are many points in this game where your character is intentionally slowed down while being chased and as a result it makes the platforming far clunkier and makes it take 5x as long to escape because you keep dying due to the speed at which you can move or height you can jump suddenly being changed without any warning. This game is deeply atmospheric, I love the speculative biology elements and the commentary it is trying to make. The fallout style radio system is really neat and the original music is fantastic. I like the style of the cutscenes and how the protagonist is the one narrating them. These very positive elements do not outweigh how frustrating the gameplay is. I only leave this review because there are some highly positive elements to this game, however due to the massive issues it has it makes it more frustrating as this game is so close to being really good.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The Cub is a stylish and interesting game with a great post-apocalyptic atmosphere. The ruined city, environmental storytelling, and fast-paced platforming make exploring the world genuinely enjoyable. The art style is probably the biggest highlight, giving the game a unique look and personality. That said, some sections can feel repetitive, and the gameplay doesn't always feel as polished as the visuals. Still, if you enjoy atmospheric platformers with a strong story and unique presentation, The Cub is worth checking out.
This should not be rated very positive. Its a 6/10. A beautiful looking game that has extremely average gameplay, and a completely uninteresting narrative. Its hand-drawn artwork, animation, and post-apocalyptic world are beautiful, making it worth experiencing for the visual presentation alone. But! The gameplay is extremely average. It rarely new introduces mechanics or any interesting ideas. Despite an intriguing premise, the story never grabbed my attention and ultimately left no lasting impression. It's the kind of plot that's easy to forget almost as soon as the credits roll. Its a visual showcase, And its short. Completed in one sitting in a few hours.
It's like the younger, feral brother of Planet of Lana. Every section is outlandish and beautiful. The postapocalyptic world creation is awesome, and it tells a good story. It's mostly run-and-jump (not a puzzle-platformer); some sections are difficult, but the checkpoints are frequent so there's very little frustration. It's pretty short too, I finished it with all collectibles in like 3 sittings. There are many details that elevate the game to an extremely polished experience: the soundtrack is awesome, and the radio chat, books and newspapers you find all contain fun, ironic social commentary. The animations when the kid is idle show you the amount of care they put into this game. Highly recommended if you're itching for a fun, quick-thinking platformer with some story behind it!
This game is made by communists leftist.
The Cub is a charming little platformer. The main character is a young boy who was raised by wolves on a Earth abandoned by humans following an ecological disaster. One day, he discovers a group of strange creatures: humans in spacesuits who have come from the Mars colony to search Earth for usable resources. And soon, it’s not just dangerous jungle animals hunting the protagonist. The game is a solid mid-budget platformer with a cartoon-style design. The journey takes you through jungles, caves, and the ruins of an abandoned metropolis. The main tasks involve running, jumping, swinging along ropes and ladders, and occasionally moving a crate to reach a higher spot. There aren’t really any puzzles in the traditional sense. The challenge lies in well-timed jumping and running. To master this, you’ll often need to try the levels many times. You’ll die frequently, but the checkpoints are usually well-placed, and a failed attempt doesn’t mean you have to replay long sections. Unlike "Little Nightmares 2", for example, where the random nature of the levels can be frustrating, here you can study the level design and master it fairly well after playing through it a few times. The gameplay is simple, but the story, little details, and subtle humor ensure that you never get bored. A few other comments complain that the game is too difficult and can only be mastered by “learning from your mistakes”, which you couldn’t avoid. I’m old enough to remember the early days of computer games to recognize some similarities. You do actually have to play a scene several times to get to know the traps and figure out how to avoid them. But the controls work, and there’s really no point where you can’t get past it with a little patience and the right timing. A few humorous collectibles and a radio playing original songs that you can listen to through a helmet are meant to increase replay value, but I found almost all of them on my first playthrough and will leave it at that. I’d recommend it, even though you might want to wait for a sale. All in all, it’s still three and a half hours of solid entertainment.
Pretentious. Not my sort of game. I might have liked the pretentiousness when I was a teenager, but I find it a bit cringe nowadays. The gameplay is okay, just a typical platformer. The difficulty level is about right.
