Now don't get me wrong, this is a building game which really scratches that itch, but I cannot get over the glaring fact that even though the game is in EA, the FPS tanks dramatically as you progress and build more and more conveyor belts and storage. It's all great having 180 FPS at the start with just the one drone and 1 storage placed, but that's not the entire point of the game now is it and for each conveyor and large storage built, your FPS ticks down until your at sub 30 FPS in game, with CPU/GPU usage in windows being dramatically low for a game and the shadows then flicker causing nausea. If the FPS issue was sorted, this would be a great game - but at the moment with the issues, its a good game and I would only recommend it if you know its going to run like ♥♥♥♥ towards the late stage.
I was going to write a glowing review of how awesome this game is with some fun details, but now believe something else would be more helpful and informative. REVIEW FOR GAME: It is awesome. The dev did what they set out to do, and they did it very well. If you like the genre, the setting, and what the store page describes....you will enjoy this game. MYSTERY OF 76% POSITIVE INFORMATION: I was bewildered by the 76% positive after giving this game a go, until I stumbled upon a vast conspiracy. Actually, only half joking on this one. Found out a portion of "The Crust" community is very limited with how they can interact with the internet due to restrictions from their friendly government. Since they couldn't use the Steam discussion threads to address the dev with their question/concern, they took the next obvious step: some of the smartest among them took the next obvious step. They wrote their question/concern and attached it to a negative review!! Brilliant! A negative review will definitely get the devs attention, and hopefully they will leave their response for what the recommended difficulty is for your first playthrough or the best setting to tweak for improved FPS somewhere the government allows it to be read! I didn't think this could be true. I definitely didn't initially believe enough self centered people would do this to be noticeable. I even looked at other games I thought might be applicable, hoping for an isolated incident. You will have to wait for my Mortismal style 100% review for the answer, but spoiler alert!!! I've lost another chunk of my fait in humanity! Just kidding by the way; about waiting for my Mortismal 100% review (not the [strike] epic [/strike] steam review). That dude is crazy for doing this. He is also super helpful and informative. Wonder if he has gotten a shoutout from an automation game before?? TLDR: If you like what is on Store Page, you will like the game. Chinese government responsible for game only having 76% positive.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Yeah they really borked this awesome game. The game. As in the campaign. Starts you off where I would hope to be hours down the road. WHY in TF am I starting out with everything already built? Let me guess I'm assumed to be to stupid for all that. Like everything is already done. You are just asked to start running wires to (thing that's already built) to (thing that's already built) ... how fun!!! It was right there. Just give me a barren moon in which to start this operation. Nope, the whole thing is up and running. You just need to click through...like at the very start you have like 24 solar panels up and running...batteries everywhere...underground? Yeah it's already carved out and stocked with machinery. Oh and don't ever ever forget to send the message that mysogeny is bad mm-kk. Like your FIRST communication with whoever is running the moonbase calls another so-called professional "sweetheart" and of course gets rebuked for it. No Sh*t Sherlok. In 5 decades of life I have NEVER heard another human being refer to another human being that they do not know...as "sweetheart". These are supposed to be professionals. It's a moon base ffs but the one dude who is spose to be the dumb construction guy calls some women "sweetheart" .... like you can't make this up. It's like a GenZ fantasy on how Boomers interacted with each other. They CAN NOT HELP THEMSELVES. They cannot. You will be exclaimed on how professionals in the future don't call each other by ... I just can't Thumbs down. Great concept. Many great features. Made for dumb people cuz of course it is. I cannot put into words how sad this makes me. I bought this game EA and waited...and waited...aaaaand waited...then I waited some more because it looks AWESOME. This could be the coolest gam....and they fkd it. That takes talent. Skill. Nice work guys.
This is meant to be a hard science thing, right? But the space elevator in the opening cutscene uses a rocket to climb the cable, when the point of space elevators is avoiding the use of rockets and using more efficient fuel sources. An explosion causes a blastwave that flips over rovers and things, despite the moon having no atmosphere to carry the blastwave that way. Some of the character art, if not AI-generated, feels that way. There are indications that AI-generated assets were used during development, but the forum posts imply those would later be removed. However, at the time those conversations were taking place on the forum, people said that no AI disclosure appeared on the storefront. The game's writing is bad. Lazy. During the tutorial a professional lunar colonist is mystified by a baseline technology to convert drones from cargo units to mining units, which another character implies has been standard for years. The emotional atmosphere is one of the player being part of what might be some kind of hostile takeover, but it immediately switches to smiley friendship the moment the tutorial has you plonk down a couple of solar power arrays - and there are dozens and dozens there already. So that emotional flip makes no sense, at all. It comes across as sloppy. And if the game actually used gen-AI during development and didn't disclose that, it makes sense - because those tools indicate that someone believes they deserve our time, money, and attention, but they shouldn't have to put in their best efforts to earn those things. This game, which I'm sure is a ton of fun for a lot of players, does not earn anything. Based on the Tutorial and a quick look around, it's a simple remix of other games without anything original to it, honestly.
Ive finished the game twice, it lags towards the end. However, its one of the most fun base building I've played. And despite being in "early access", the dev have shipped big improvements since I've started to play. Every few months, there is a new big update. I highly recommend the game.
Despite the game being in EA for nearly 2 years, the Devs are mostly focused on delivering Performance improvements and forget about delivering deep content for the game. After almost 2 years, the game feels as empty as moon surface.
Update 6 29 2026. I figured out what I hate about this game. The beginning. I legit can't get past playing 3 or 4 hours at most of this game before getting frustrated and bored beyond measure. Last time I'll be trying this game. I wanted to like it so much. Original review: The game looks so beautiful and I'm sure the devs put so much work into it, but holy crap starting out on the story line is the WORST experience I've ever had in this style of game. It tells you...kinda...what to do, but not really. And the drone logic is DISASTEROUSLY bad at times. No, I can't recommend it. I can't even bring myself to get to the 25 hour mark with this one. Sorry :(
Textures are blurry no matter the settings... and can you PLEASEEE, either normalise the Alices dialog and make her professional and a normal WOMAN, or simply remove her from the game..... she's utterly annoying and off putting... who wrote this dialog?!?!?!!?! Just add the setting to remove her completely, at least from sandbox mode. I will play the game more of course and might change my review to positive since I really like the concept, but so far, just because of the Alice, it's a NO... sorry, I just cant support this "im superior to everyone else" attitude... so incredibly idiotic... EDIT: Had to edit Engine.ini file to remove all of that blur... here are the lines I added to the bottom of the file if anyone has the same problem: [SystemSettings] r.MotionBlur.Max=0 r.MotionBlurQuality=0 r.DefaultFeature.MotionBlur=0 r.PostProcessAAQuality=0 r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0 r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0 r.LensFlareQuality=0 r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0 Original article & author of these config changes: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3290088076
