About
The Cave Diver is equal parts rage-game, psychological horror, and folklore nightmare.
A rage-inducing descent into darkness, built around unconventional hand-based controls and a story buried deep beneath the earth.
The suffocating rocks of the caves are slowly closing in to claim another soul.
Keep crawling... You're almost there...
Cave dive through a labyrinth of crushing stones and constricting passageways. Branching tunnels will lure you into claustrophobic passages where turning back seems physically impossible.
Hammer crude signs into the stone to track your descent into the caves. With every new body, the cave grows familiar. The marks of those who came before remain…
The caves are no place for the living. Getting stuck means dying alone, entombed in rock. No one is coming to save you. When you return as a new cave diver, you might stumble upon your predecessor's decayed remains - if you can reach them.
Master the movement and grip of your two hands to carefully navigate obstacles and overcome physics puzzles. Every movement is perfected through failure. Only the obsessive, the patient, and the insane make it deeper.
For generations your family has told stories of a rare flower that grows at the bottom of these caves. They say the flower can cure any ailment - even paraplegia of the legs . But every man who's entered the caves has failed to return... Some say the cave itself takes them... Others speak of something ancient that stirs below - an evil older than man himself...

muy original!
The art is wonderful. The sound design is impeccable, and the game controls take just the right amount of skill to master that the game stays challenging throughout. I've beat both endings, and I'm happy to say I enjoyed the whole game, including the well-crafted story. I get that others may think it too challenging or buggy, but I personally had no bugs and spent enough time to become proficient. What a great game!

Such a great game for this genre. Audio in the game was amazing and the ending was well worth the playthrough. If you like Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy or A Difficult Game About Climbing, THIS IS A MUST PLAY!
Pretty fun, other reviews complaining of the difficulty, I mean yeah it's difficult, but the devs kinda did say it was a rage game, and some boring parts are annoying and very tedious, but in all enjoyed it
Interesting mix of a horror and rage game.
I've played the demo when it was available, which felt more like a claustrophobic and atmospheric game. I went into the full version expecting the same but longer, more exploring narrow claustrophobic caves and hitting dead ends you can't escape and thus having to restart over and over again to conquer the cave. So imagine my surprise when I realised that the full game is much more gameplay focused. That said, I would say I still liked the game. The gameplay was interesting and fun enough to not bore me during my playthrough and although for me it felt like a rage game (which for me is already given if you can lose half an hour of progress by slipping up just once), it didn't feel too hard for my taste. The atmosphere, outside of pure Gameplay parts was actually pretty solid. There is a certain panic you get when the character is stuck in a narrow cave and you just try to somehow wiggle out again. That's also where the rather sparse checkpoints contribute to the horror. I just wish there was more of that, instead of scaling walls and rope swinging. The worst parts were the water sections in my opinion. They felt really annoying to play. I have to say though, the map is rather big and there is usually more than one path to reach the goal, so I might just have accidentally chosen the least atmospheric ways through the cave. It does invite multiple playthroughs though to see different parts of the map. Otherwise, graphics and sound were very fitting for the atmosphere and the music didn't get too annoying when I struggled on a climb. The player character looked quite goofy from time to time though. I understand that proper human anatomy had to step back for enjoyable gameplay, but I sometimes felt like I was playing a human shaped worm instead of a human. That didn't really subtract from the general atmosphere for me though. Lastly I just want to say that the 10€ price tag feels a bit high in my opinion, but I also don't plan on doing more playthroughs so others might get more from the game than me.
Great atmosphere, really feels like I'm going to break both my forearms in a seam smaller than my skull.
Great mix of psychological horror, rage game, and some puzzles. Definitely quit a few times but it has that rage game element that makes you wanna keep coming back. I think if you like rage games that alone would make you enjoy this
The mechanics can be a little tedious at first, and definitely won't cooperate at times, but I really enjoyed overcoming the many obstacles and learning about all the people who dived down before me. The environments and puzzles were well made, and fun to explore. Lots of thrilling, anxiety inducing segments. It is a relatively short game at 4 hours for my first playthrough (I was taking my time and exploring where I could) but totally worth the price. Multiple endings, a hardcore mode, and a speedrun clock if you wanted more content.
I've been doing a playthru and I have to say...I like this game. But the longer you play, the more frustrated you get. The difficulty keeps ramping up, testing ur skills. Gripped my controller so tight in rage I about yeeted it into the wall besides me because I kept getting stuck on this one part. I'll keep playing, because I do wanna complete it but damn...this really makes you second guess yourself.
