After finishing The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, I began searching for a similar experience. I came across this game, saw the trailer, and decided to give it a go. I must say, it turned out to be something I most definitely won’t forget for a long time. The graphics really hit hard for me—I loved the architecture, the various chapters, and their immersive atmospheres. Rich storytelling makes the expierence even more Riveting. The price may seem a little high, especially when compared to The Stanley Parable. I make this comparison because both games are similar in nature and are classified as narration, walking simulators on Steam. Taking this into consideration, the price difference between the two isn’t significant, yet The Beginner’s Guide is comparatively expensive for what it offers. The Stanley Parable is packed with far more hours of playtime, explores a wider range of topics and moral ideas rather than focusing on a single story, and is overall a much larger experience. *The Stanley Parable* is packed with far more hours of playtime, explores a wider range of topics and moral ideas rather than focusing on a single story, and is overall a much larger experience. Most importantly, The Stanley Parable features multiple choice routes and endings—it’s basically what makes the game unique at its core. In contrast, The Beginner’s Guide follows a singular storyline with only one ending that you progress through. Nevertheless, The Beginner’s Guide is a wonderful experience in its own right, and when discounted by 50%, I find it absolutely worth the price. Even on its own, it is an incredibly enjoyable and emotionally affecting game. (and yes i used an em dash)

《新手指南》很难用几句话来总结，里面既包含了一个独立游戏创作者对其在意外成功之后与朋友闹掰的道歉，也包含游戏创造者的自我展示欲望与玩家解读的永恒尝试所形成的对立的讨论，还有对于游戏这一本质的一定思考。玩完之后感慨良多，但是又有些说不出来。
