The 7th Guest Remake

Un clásico de los puzles que moderniza su estructura sin perder aquello que sigue haciendo que funcione. Remake del clásico de los 90 que vuelve a pantalla plana después de su paso por la VR. El juego conserva toda la estructura del clásico, pero reinventa sus mecánicas y renueva los cortos FMV en calidad 4k. Prácticamente es un calco a la versión VR pero adaptando sus mecánicas al mando. Técnicamente sobresaliente, con una mansión llena de detalles con las que interactual. En cuanto al rendimiento nada que objetar, muy bien optimizado, no es un juego muy exigente en hardware. Incluso diría que esta mejor que la versión de VR de las MetaQuest3. Si te gustan los puzzles, acertijos y eres un nostálgico de aquellas obras FMV de los 90, esta es tu oportunidad de revivir aquella época. I've had a great time from starting to end, the puzzles never felt cheap or impossible. There are 3 puzzles I've spent over an hour struggling to find the solution and it felt rewarding to succeed. However, there was one puzzle where the instructions weren't clear and I spent way longer than I should trying to understand why my answer wasn't working, I had to ultimately get a hint in the game to understand what I was doing wrong. Loved to see a game with real actors, it gave it charm. If you love puzzles, I highly recommend this game.

great graphics, sound, acting. controls are very clunky, and it makes gameplay frustrating. very few of the puzzles can be restarted with a keystroke -- you have to exit and re-enter the room, also frustrating. puzzles are challenging overall, some are a miss, very little direction. very glad they did not recreate the bishops chess puzzle from the original.

Fun puzzles, good story, cool live action cutscenes. Dope game!

The 7th Guest is not a particularly frightening game, but it is positively dripping with atmosphere. I can't judge it as a remake since I've never played the original. I've seen gameplay of the 1993 classic and age has not been kind to it. Some games from the 90s such as Arcanum, Fallout, or Myst have held up well over the years, but I'm not sure the same can be said for The 7th Guest (1993). Let's talk about its strengths. All of the puzzles, minus one or two, fall somewhere in the realm of good to great. I especially enjoyed the final puzzle once I'd actually figured out the systems behind it. The sound design is genuinely excellent with the skittering of spiders, the banging of pipes, and wailing of eerie dolls selling the atmosphere well. You've got a jazzy soundtrack bolstering the mood throughout, which can work slightly to the detriment of the horror, but is nonetheless a total vibe. Weaknesses? The story is really nothing to write home about. To avoid spoilers, you, the player, join these guests as they're invited by the mysterious and menacing Henry Stauf to his mansion for a strange and deadly evening. It goes about exactly as you'd expect. The deaths are actually pretty weak. For some reason I got it in my head that Stauf would be a bit closer to Jigsaw from Saw in the sense that some of the games themselves were deadly - this was not the case. I have no issue with games more focused on being spooky and mysterious rather than frightening or evocative, so this did not detract from the experience, but it does leave a rather plain story laid bare. I'd recommend it if you want a brief, atmospheric puzzle adventure. Just don't go in with the expectation of getting scared or finding a real challenge with any of the puzzles, and you'll have a good time soaking in the vibes of what feels like an older, edgier brother to Disney's Haunted Mansion. Note: My long hours are because I tend to leave games running while doing other things. Actual playtime was about five hours.

Overall ok game for the price. puzzles vary alot, some of them are quite good some of them are plain easy. Story is really there to waste time as super predictable If u enjoy puzzles it is worth buy on discount
