this game cured my blindness and brought my mother back to life
I honestly don't know whether to recommend this game or not, I seem to be a strange outlier for this game? I enjoy Tetris, Tetris by default is a fairly nice chill experience, but Tetris Effect somehow twisted this into being one of the most nauseating stressful experiences I have ever tried and yet everyone seems to say the opposite? that it's relaxing and calming. Which is weird for me as I have never in any game I have ever played felt nauseous while playing, from fast paced FPS games, to 6 direction space shooters. Nothing has made me feel this woozy before.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

TETRIS <3 If you're into tetris and have money, this wouldn't be a bad purchase alot of content than just normal tetris like Zone, Effect modes, etc. and its very beautiful (IF you can run em with your laptop/PC) but it's basically just normal modern tetris (+ classic/SNES mode in the effect mode) with extra stuff side note, from a player that played tetris from tetr.io (I don't have any other official tetris game), there are no settings for ARR, DAS, SDF, etc. like in tetr.io sadly Anyways, I had fun in this game, but when I was 100%-ing the game It's hell, atleast for the grinding level aspect It totally ruined this game for me, it got to the point, that I have finished basically everything except getting to lvl 100, and I finished all other achievement excluding lvl 100 achievement in 56-ish hours, and now I finally have gotten to lvl 100 at currently 97 hours It took 1 hour just for me to lvl up (when you're at the 60 and higher lvl), if you are perfectly getting SS on every run, because 1 SS in 3.5 mins = 2000-2800 exp, and you need to have 2,000,000+ exp to get to lvl 100 and basically, I just put up a podcast/documentary beside my tetris gameplay to pass the time lmao but other than my rant about 100%-ing the game, It's a good game, worth the price when on discount (imo) Rating 6.8/10 Enjoyment 3.2/10
It is a recommendation with a very strong qualifier. Why I recommend: AMAZING visual and musical experience, it is literally the way to play tetris in 2026. Tetris is timeless, perhaps the best game ever made; tetris effect makes tetris even more timeless. Beautiful to play. I love this game for what it is. Now, the strong qualifier: be prepared to be very frustrated with play on steam deck. The dpad on steam deck makes this game incredibly difficult for anyone who has played tetris on multiple systems. The problem is false diagonals and false drops because something is wrong with how the game controls on Steam Deck compared to any other system I have played tetris on (many systems). When sequences get very fast you need to move pieces quicker and that is when the problem comes around because you will get all sorts of drops in the wrong spot, it is like the controller is moving faster than what is on screen. In game menu settings offers sensitivity toggles and a locked toggle that does not allow diagonals, but it does not matter because the issue is in how the dpad on the steam deck is not in sync with the game, it is almost like you press once and it moves twice. Not literally, but it feels like that. I am at the point where I am trying to sort out how to play it off of steam deck, but I do not have a system that will play this file.
I only play solo, non-VR, and it is amazing. Tweaking the effects, transparancy and zoom is very helpful for the enjoyment. Great variaty of game modes too.
A fun Tetris entry, with trippy, pleasant visuals and music. The multiplayer co-op mode is challenging and unique, with bosses that throw all sorts of unfair tricks your way. This is where the game's trippy presentation actually hinders gameplay, but it's by design and I think that's a pretty cool twist on the Tetris formula; I thought after Tetris DS and Puyo Puyo Tetris the creativity well had been drained, but here we are with a man vs. machine Tetris mode where the playfield shifts around and constantly makes you engage more with your hand-eye coordination while also under intense pressure. Definitely a cool idea. My only complaint is I'd liked there to have been more modes. Speaking of those CPU opponents, they can do things like force tri-pieces of 3, or pent-pieces of 5, and even more, and that would be a pretty cool mode to just play with those pieces, if only for practice against those bosses but also just to have a fun alternate way to play. By the same token, I think having a giant playing field mode would be interesting, or at least a customizable field that lets players choose their own height and width so you could make fun self-imposed challenges. The game's been out a while so I doubt we'll see an update that adds these kinds of things, but it's the kind of thing I'd like to see, whether here as an update or DLC or in a sequel. Anyhow, I recommend it. Fun on a screen but more interesting in VR.
