Territory is great fun, strategy part has quite the depth that it takes a moment to learn all of the quirks. It is quite satisfying to kick the ass of elephants and control complete ecosystem :)
Great idea, easy to play, complex gene modifications and balanced AI. I'm going to be the king of the Savannah.
Good game, quite unique gameplay, is more complex than it looks like. I definitely recommend to play maps one by one, it looks like animals are mapped to real ecosystem (e.g. squirrel eats nuts). You can also run maps in different modes.

The game is sort of just boring and difficult to play for no real reason. There seems to be optimal strategies but it isn't really fun to play. A lot of it is just waiting and seeing what happens, but not in a way that makes it engaging to play. Unfortunately, I don't really think I can recommend this one. It seems like I have seem all it has to offer after an hour and I don't really want to continue playing.
Strategy simulation set to real world, both animals behaviour and genes effects make sense Props: * Unique gameplay * Engaging and hard * Can be quite a fun :) Cons: * Lagging on large maps in late game * No Multiplayer This game is great fun. Usually i finished up with killer cats eating everything then starving to death. Beavers are deadly.
Game lacks depth.
Pretty cool game with indirect controll of animals through genes. You can play it casually but it has an unexpected depth to it as you learn that each evolutionary advantage has its cost and you need to find ballance (often by trial and error as in real evolution) to have the most competitive animal (or combination of animals) in the ecosystem. With this game mechanism the game is really unique and well worth the money, recommended.
A cute little puzzle game. Not very long, beat every level at max rating in ~4 hours of game time (left it idle for a few hours before writing this review). It's got... a lot of really good ideas, and is well polished for what it is. But it just doesn't come together in a way where a win feels satisfying or like you've executed a plan well.
A much more in depth game than the graphics suggest. You are in charge of one or several species which fight for the control of a territory. You can evolve and mutate your species in order to adapt to their surroundings. Positives: - Good progression in difficulty and complexity through the maps. - Required information easily accessible. Negatives: - Some English translations could do with a re-pass (syntaxe not perfect but perfectly understandable) - Music in the loading screen de-correlated to the volume set in game. - Sometimes difficulty of clicking on elements (for example food when many animals are feeding off of it) Last point which is for me neither a positive nor a negative as I was gifted the key and is related to my appreciation of the style of game (which is subjective): I wouldn't have bought the game full price or would have regretted doing so.
If you mainly use the steam deck, I wouldn't recommend the game. No matter how I tried to change the control settings, I can't get past the first dialog.
