About
After waking up alone with no memories in a derelict terraforming facility on an unknown (and distinctly not terraformed) planet, it's up to you to find a way to survive, learn what happened to the people who lived here and why you were abandoned.
As you follow the trail of the colonists who fled the facility, you quickly find yourself caught in a time loop, resetting you to the same moment you first woke up each time you die. The ability to learn from even your most fatal mistakes will certainly come in handy, allowing you to become faster and more efficient over time, but it does have its limits. No matter how much you optimise your routes and actions, your body can only become so much stronger or faster. Eventually you'll have to find smarter ways to solve the problems you face instead.
You'll need reliable ways to find air, water and food if you plan to survive for very long. But you can't carry all of it with you all the time, so prioritizing what resources you use and when can help you get that little bit farther. The best priorities can vary depending on where you're going, so it always pays to be adaptable.
Each time you complete an action, you'll be faster on the next loop - to a point. Completing sets of actions enough times groups them together into a combined action, further increasing the speed and efficiency of them. But these won't be enough for you to solve all the mysteries of the planet on their own.
Numerous terraforming facilities are spread across the planet, each containing unique challenges and opportunities. Once you learn where they are and how to get there, you're free to visit them in any order you wish. Tired or frustrated with the puzzle you've been working on? Maybe another facility holds the key to simplifying it.

Terraformental is the game you didn't know you needed. It's a text based, story driven, metroidvania with time loop/incremental mechanics. And it is fantastic. You will feel proud *and rewarded* with each puzzle solved. Two thumbs way up.
It's like a text-based metroidvania, wrapped up in a routing puzzle/exploration game using a time loop as its core.
it's a story based game disguised as an incremental game. Good balance imo.

Absolutely fantastic idle game. Feels like it's doing its own thing.
I'm not super far in, but I've enjoyed what I've seen so far. A lot of the planning and decision making reminds me of reading 'The Martian', where you're spending a lot of time thinking about logistics and funky solutions to problems. I found portions of the game to be excessively repetitive, with few options for automating them. I look forward to seeing how the game evolves!
Gracefully combines progression by knowledge and steady passive improvement, making them both feel meaningful. A good exploration story attached to that makes the entire experience incredibly enjoyable
The narrative is amazing, and it takes full advantage of the looping in telling it! If you turned something like All You Need is Kill into a choose your own adventure, you'd get this. Try the demo, it will shock you at how much it draws you in.
Very enjoyable narrative mystery game - not very incremental (I'd describe it closer to semi-idle resource management), but very much my jam.
I did not expect a puzzle to be the incremental game. I also greatly appreciate that for a significant amount of the game, if you don't feel like figuring out the current puzzle for easier/sensible progression, you can go grind for hours down a different path instead. And if you don't feel like puzzling at all? Just grind until you bulldoze the challenge. Except, like, one puzzle so far. But I liked that one.
A wonderful experience. I was sucked in by the story, the description of the world, and the beautiful soundtrack. I loved the feeling of building my personal mastery over the game by learning where things were and the best ways to acquire them. Of course the in-game growth of acquiring better stats and unlocking new actions is also compelling. Terraformental is survival and exploration distilled to its core to take you on an amazing journey. I can't wait to see what the dev has in store as it approaches full release.
