After 100% the achievements, I'll say the game is hella fun, but if you want to 100% make sure you do the lurking menace hard portal before you reach a higher level or it stops spawning. Other than that super worth it and the dlc characters are all fun and unique too. Some crazy op builds. Enemies get a bit repetitive though. If Hades is a 10 this is a solid 8.
Here's a cliche "I really wanted to love this game." and I did, but I don't. It certainly doesn't deserve a "Very Positive" Steam rating. I just can't fathom that this game has been around for almost two years, yet unforgivable and game breaking inconsistencies still exist. The real problem though, is that the base level design, and coding for multiplayer, is rotten to the core. It's dumb beyond belief. There is no MP lobby. Lobby? What a fkn antiquated concept. Instead, you get to roll the dice at the start screen while the seconds count down, and you admire your pretty 30 ping. Firstly hoping that you aren't going to end up on a team that is halfway through a run. Then, at the same time also praying to a non-existant god, that the same team is running something maybe a level up from a timber pc powered by penguin poop on a 300 bps modem out of Antarctica. The entire premise of the game is about "building your build". So which FW thought it would be clever to dump players into a game when half the team is 'built' already? Completely defeats the fun of the game, also makes it next to impossible to complete certain achievements. Lack of lobby stupidity excluded, there isn't even an option to "Create MP game." of your own. So you can't even just start an MP run from scratch on your own. You HAVE to roll the dice, WTFF?!? Oh and here's one for you players who love to add insult to injury. If you do happen to be lucky enough to create an MP game. You get kicked for idle waiting for other players even if you're the only player and the creator. Yup, next level fktard sht. The guys who dropped the balls on this basic shizz, are, quite literally, the definition of moronic FWs. If I was you idiots, I would be sure to leave this failure, and any reference to it, or the company involved, out of your LinkedIn profile. There is no polish here, this game could have been something good, but it isn't. The multiplayer is a poorly implemented after thought, and the chumps in charge obviously don't GAF cause they've done nothing to fix it. You don't need my review. Buy the game. Play the game. Realise how broken MP is. Get a refund.
Fun rougue like turtle. wish more companies did this like transformers or even some anime.
Not super bad, but not that good either. Fun enough to play every now and then, but this is also a very direct Hades - clone, and Hades just does everything way better. TMNT is nostalgic, and the game feels cool thematically. But the gameplay is kind of.. ehh. WAY, way too much metaprogression, and the metaprogression isn't the fun kind either. You just keep increasing %damage, %health, %currency.. nothing interesting. The game would've been much better off if metaprogression was only unlocks. The runs also feel dull at the start, and then turn tedious towards the end. Like, the first zones of a run are trivial, while at the later zones enemies get really bullet spongy and spam tons of AOEs that keep you from doing damage. The upgrades during runs are also mostly.. lame. Pick your flavour of "attacks do x damage", kinda. Few things interact with each other beyond the basic "do x extra foo damage, and increased foo damage".
I’ve always liked TMNT and seeing this game was a Hades-like got me interested. The gameplay is quite similar to Hades too but nowhere near its build variety. The minute to minute gameplay isn’t as smooth either but fun regardless. Most of the characters are fun to play, with Donatello being a bit laggy-feeling with his attacks and Metalhead being borderline unplayable with how unresponsive he is. The voice acting and dialogue though is pretty neat, I liked the back and forth between the characters. Overall Score 7.3/10 Get it on sale, fun little game.

One of the best roguelite games I've ever played. I've always loved the concept of having permanent powers throughout several matches, which is one of the main reasons why Warlords Battlecry 3 is my all-time favorite game, and with introduction of roguelike/roguelite games this concept became popular in the last 7-8 years (thanks to Slay the Spire); but there are so many roguelike/roguelite games out there, and most of them are simply Slay the Spire copycats, minus balancing and gameplay, and they all lack that "interesting gist," the thing that makes them interesting; they lack the oomph. But this game? This game has it all. The combat feels incredibly fluid and snappy, taking clear inspiration from Hades. Each turtle has a distinct identity, and the way you can stack elemental powers (like fire, ooze, or utrom) makes every attempt feel fresh. Finding a broken combination of upgrades that lets you melt a boss is deeply satisfying. It doesn’t just feel like a generic roguelike with a TMNT skin; it captures the soul of the franchise. The banter between the brothers, the iconic locations in NYC, and the boss fights against classic villains like Karai or Bebop make it feel like a playable comic book. It’s a great mix of nostalgia and modern design. At its core this game's just Hades with TMNT skin, and I was surprised that nickelodeon could pull this off. I mean, it is nickelodeon, one of the worst and greediest companies out there. Honestly, I never liked them, their shows always felt unaesthetic and disgusting on purpose; they push shows like Game Shakers (which is filled with adult gay jokes, but somehow aimed at young kids), and they destroy potential masterpieces like The Legend of Korra (somehow adult gay jokes are okay for a kids show, but having two girls holding hands and kissing isn't okay for a teens show, shaking my head); if you're unaware what happened to TLOK, I suggest you to search it thoroughly, because what nickel-odious did to that show is just crime; and the worst part of this story is that nickelodeon puts its GIANT logo on everything TLOK related (like skins for SMITE had giant nickelodeon logos on the skin arts, which honestly were bigger than the actual skins on the art) as if they were the ones that made the show, as if they weren't the ones that tried to bury that show. Anyway, enough speaking of bad old evil nickel-odious, and let's get back to TMNT: Splintered Fate. As you can see from my playtime and screenshots, I've already beaten Shredder, and looking forward to max out all upgrades and keep increasing my winning streak and statistics. Speaking of statistics, I just LOVE the fact that they added some Slayer Mage: My First RPG, GTA, Saints Row, Injustice, TEKKEN, and etc. type of deep and detailed stats! Statistics has always been my sweet spot in games, and yet so little games actually add this feature, which is so easy to add, so satisfying to look at, to check how you spent your time on the game. However, this game isn't perfect, there're two things I'd like to mention that I didn't like: 1. Portals should have a warning before entering them. Sometimes when I'm trying to read the portal's description, the game thinks I want to enter the portal, and it enters on its own. 2. If you press Shift+Tab (I believe the culprit is Tab key) to access Steam Overlay, the Esc key won't work anymore for that session; it's really annoying when you don't notice it, and have to pause due to the urgent business during a boss fight—your only option is to Alt+F4.
