Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge

Pros: - Runs on Linux with Proton 9.x.x.x.x or whatever. No crashes or noticeable slowdowns except sometimes when saving or achievements popping. - Has some mods (though most don't work) - Nostalgia dopamine hit level is over 9000. This is clearly made with love, or at least respect for the original cartoons and non ultra grim dark comics. I grew up with the turtles as a young girl and loved the original show and movies. Shredder actually says "TONIGHT I DINE ON TURTLE SOUP!". Clear drop mic roll credits moment. - Fun moves There are easy to do combos, retro inspired moves from previous games (even the NES ones), and everything flows. Some moves overlap or are copied, but in general they are all fun and feel impactful. At character level 8, you can do a Street fighter V-Ism custom combo. Oh and there are taunts. Hearing Mona Lisa yell "SCIENCE!" as she uses chemical warfare against every baddy on screen made me smile. And yes, that means Mona Lisa is in the game and she rocks the crowd as if she was DJ Kool on stage with Biz Markie and Doug E. Fresh singing "Let Me Clear My Throat". - Absolutely fantastic art style and animations. The ONLY way they could have been better is if the turtles and Mondo could various styles of the C-Walk (ifykyk), Splinter do the Moonwalk and April do the Electric Slide/Boogie. - Has multiplayer, but I have no interest in it nor have I tried it. - Most of the music was either nostalgic and or good. Or at least not annoying in the worse cases. Cons: - Comics Hardly anything relating to the original comics. just a few comic covers. O and there is NO BLOOD AFAIK. - Grind. The characters in story can level up, but there isn't enough content to justify leveling them all. The game is like 16 levels. While short, they are very well made and mostly fun levels. But to unlock all the moves you'd have to play until you're sick of the game. - Censorship. Devs removed April O'Neil's butt bop and she's been de-curved. The April in the show was clearly a full woman. April in this one makes Chell from Portal look immodest.Also there was a scene where Bebop kidnaps a woman named Tiffany, she was replaced with Vernon. - Cameos. They are great to see, but they appear in game, then do NOTHING. They don't assist you like Spiderman - Maximum Carnage summons, or anything useful. They have mini fetch quests that reward you an insulting low amount of points. I mean the Punk Frogs are standing there with weapons in hand as I'm being punched. TL;DR Buy it if you like beat em ups or Ninja Turtles. If you don't like either, I suggest you go schedule a therapist visit, maybe even call a crisis hotline because something is wrong.
