About

Tavernhold is a single-player mix of daylight inn-management and nighttime tower defense. Build up a profitable roadside tavern, gather the resources you need, and hold the line when undead waves march on your gate. Guard the inn—if it falls, your fight is over.

Hire your workers to assign them where they’re needed most: gathering food and timber, constructing new rooms and tables, repairing defenses, or manning the walls when night falls.
Feed travelers and rent out rooms to earn gold, then reinvest it into more workers, faster resource nodes, and stronger defenses.
Spend wood to add tables, guest rooms, spike traps, stronger gates, or new resource outposts. Decide what matters most before the night arrives!

A roguelike twist on every run.
Receive a random bonus at the start of each day that changes how you play.
As days pass, the chances of stronger bonuses increase, pushing you to adapt and plan ahead.

Design the battlefield your way.
Shape enemy paths, place defenses at key locations, and experiment with different strategies.
Watch your plans come together as each night puts your design to the test.

At night, place your workers onto the walls to shoot the enemies and take direct control of a giant ballista. Slow the undead horde with spike traps, pierce clustered enemies with well-placed bolts, and keep your enemies away from breaching the gate—too many slip through and it’s game over!

Advance through a branching research tree to strengthen your inn and defenses. Upgrade your rooms and tables to earn more gold, empower workers and traps for stronger defense, and enhance your ballista with new arrow types to hold back the undead army!

Unlock special arrow types and craft them for battle. Explosive bolts tear through clustered enemies, while frost bolts slow the horde—stock up and fire them at the perfect moment!

Every few nights, powerful bosses lead the undead army to your gates! Defend against them with upgraded defenses, crafted arrows, and careful worker placement.
Master the daily rhythm of gather-build-serve, then withstand each night’s siege to keep your tavern from falling!

Could be a great game love the concept, however it has a bug when you place/build defenses you get locked into the menu and cant do anything else...it gose away it seems if you wait till the next day but this stops you from doing any building or upgradeing in the tavern its self, I reported this to there discord but it was compleatly silent not even players chatting, after a month I gave up and left I hope this game isnt abandond and it gets fixed cuse it could be alot of fun. (just went back and checked there discord nothing has been said since my post — 2026-03-24 3:47 PM)
Tavernhold has a lot of potential, So i'll start with the good; 1) the tutorial is good to start with, 2, the game play loop is simple enough to understand, hire workers, assign workers to resource buildings, assign workers to build buildings, manage resources click on customers to serve them build defenses 3) It looks nice here is the bad, 1) game is super short if you succeed one full run is at most 2 hours 2) the tutorial/quest system bugged out and didn't acknowledge completed tasks halfway through the play through 3) the ballista is janky you need to click slightly behind and slightly below your target 4) game difficult spikes hard, by day 15 I had 5 bosses and like 10 mini bosses with either invulnerable or teleportation and I hade something along the line of 8-9 towers, 33 employees, fully upgraded, 25-30 fully upgraded spike traps and walls. and sometimes I simultaneously won and lost 5) the upgrades are super limited the only ballista upgrades are two different arrows that are expensive to craft so you won't really have them until you have upgraded everything else as the money and wood are super necessary for defenses and patrons 6) Mobile game feel - this feels like a mobile game, game play loop is super simple 7) replayability - there is none that I could see as each run seems to last for 15 waves and that is it Overall I do not dislike the game given the price, just know what you're walking into when you play. its good for about 2 hours and very limited but is a nice timewaster if you are waiting at the dmv. Edit : additional note for those who bought the game and get stuck in the build menu, press B to exit the build menu,

So funny to not be able to beat the game you made :D Still had fun though, good luck for all the other defenders!
Surprisingly good considering it's the debut title from a small indie team. If you’re looking for a sim/idle/tycoon game with a tower defense twist while enjoying some chill music, it’s well worth the price. The core gameplay loop is solid and genuinely addictive, it’s easy to lose track of time. Animations and hitboxes felt a bit rushed, and the artwork is too generic for my taste, but it doesn't hinder the gameplay experience. It's a small fun game with a strong foundation that's set up well for future updates and improvements.
Didn't expect to get hooked so quickly. Took a bit to learn, but it's really fun and keeps you playing.
Just picked up Tavernhold and I’m already hooked. The management mechanics feel super satisfying, and balancing everything is the perfect level of challenge. It’s got that 'just one more turn' feeling. Great job on the design!
TavernHold is a surprisingly engaging survival/base-building game that kept pulling me back for “one more day.” During the day, you gather resources like wood and food, manage villagers, and run a tavern where you earn gold by offering beds and meals to travelers. At the same time, you’re constantly trying to improve your defenses—building walls, placing spikes, and preparing for what’s coming. Once night falls, the game shifts gears into full defense mode, where you and your villagers must protect the base from raids (zombies and other creatures) using ballistas and whatever defenses you’ve managed to put together. The core gameplay loop works really well. Balancing economy, villager assignments, and defense planning becomes more intense as the days go on, and the difficulty ramps up in a way that feels challenging rather than unfair. It’s easy to see how someone could spend days trying to optimize their strategy and make it further each run. For reference, I only managed to survive 7 days out of 15 — so yes, be prepared for a challenge. While the game clearly still needs improvements and polish in some areas, the foundation is solid and full of potential. With further development, additional maps, expansions, or deeper systems, this could grow into something really special. Overall, TavernHold is a fun and promising survival game with a strong concept and room to evolve. I’m excited to see where the developers take it next and would definitely recommend checking it out if you enjoy survival, base defense, and resource management games.
