A game originally made for the Haunted PS1’s David Lynch Jam, Genie Boy Games has polished it up for a full Steam release. Having played both versions, I can say, the changes and additions really improved the experience immensely. It’s a well paced walking sim that clocks in at about an hour. I’d love to go into the story, since that’s the main draw of the game, but one of the big joys this game has to offer is the discovery process as you chew on info you’re given throughout and piece it all together. That said, the story is well told enough that it’s still an enjoyable ride even when you know what’s going on the 2nd go round. The voice performances from the mom and dad are a particular highlight. There are multiple endings to be found. 2 from the original jam and a new secret third one. Thankfully there is a chapter select that allows you to jump back in and make different choices without having to replay the game in its linear entirety. Over all, I’m happy to see all the little frustrations that dragged the original EXP down have been polished away, and on top of that, the additional content that has been added also elevated what was already there. The tags for the game is misleading. i feel tottaly misled as this game promotes LGBT agenda and is not labeled as such.
Loved it. Short but powerful. Visually it is great if you're into retro PSX-type graphics. The narrative is heartbreaking, well paced, and delivered in a well executed "loop" structure. While I acknowledge there's some GOOD scares, the scariest part is knowing that someone is going through what is being presented in the game right now as you read, and they may or may not have a support system. Please be kind to others. Congrats to the team for delivering a solid experience!
I got the game because the trailers look cool. And well. Hard to say what's what without spoiling, so all I'm going to say that I really liked it a lot and it left an impression on me. Very glad I gave it a go.
One of the things I enjoy most about horror is its ability to shine a light on the darker realities of this world and create a discussion around them, whether those realities are manifested physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. We don't need to have experienced it ourselves, but good horror creates that empathic ability to place ourselves in someone else's shoes and see the world from a different point of view. This... is good horror. An experience that left my heart feeling heavy. A story that felt genuine in its approach and brutally honest in its execution. There's trigger warnings in this one not because of flashing lights and sudden jumpscares, but because the true horror lies within the human experience of navigating this very cruel and unforgiving world. Thank you to the dev team, and the voice actors, for doing something that, without a doubt, was handled with care and passion. It's scary. It's real. It's a 10 out of 10. One of the BEST indie titles to drop in 2026.
This is such a heartfelt, haunting and relatable story game. I absolutely loved experiencing this game. It's so cinematic and love that it is like the Haunted PS1 indie version of Kojima's P.T. But it doesn't copy P.T. It has it's own, unmistakable identity and is truly full of wonder, warmth and horror all wrapped into one thing. Thanks for making this game :)
几个意思啊?耍我呢 前面玩着觉得挺有意思 好奇他在那个房间干了什么 结果是内心有个女装大佬?然后...就没然后了么? 这个真的是个恐怖游戏么?
game that's trying to hard to be deep, no subtlety in the story whatsoever, it's clear from the first 5 minutes what's happening here. the design and gamestyle is cool and i got jumpscared once but overall a short game that i was excited to finish just to be done with it
игра просто унылая мутная затянутая не интересная занудная не страшная шняга
Liked the atmosphere, the voice acting, tho wasnt as spooky as i thought itd be. Even though 5 bucks isnt much these days, its a bit much for what is offered. Performance on Steam Deck mostly solid aside from few frame drops, also had to use a different proton layer.
