Multiplayer. Versus. Co-op. Achievements. Stage-making. Swords. These are all words. And by random chance they also happen to describe all the major features of Sword Game, a free Action-Party game where up to 4 players can have a grand old time slashing and stabbing each other or CPUs.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

Sword Game is a 2D retro arena platform brawler with stick figure art. The game features local multiplayer and co-op vs waves of AI. Gameplay consists of jumping around on platforms, picking up powerups, and whacking your enemies with comically badly drawn "swords". There's no real content to the game, it's just PvP or botmatching, there's no interactive story/rich level design etc. PC gamers will be insulted by the demand from the developer that they must use a console peasant children's toy gamepad instead of a control scheme of our choice. This simply is unacceptable. I didn't spend thousands building a gaming rig so I could pretend it was a console peasant appliance. Minimalist/lazy stick figure "art" was used instead of contemporary PC game tier visuals. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, but regardless the visual quality is extremely low and looks bad as a result of this decision. Resolution and controls are locked and can't be changed to improve the low quality visuals or the mediocre gameplay experience. While this is free, it's bad, and should be avoided by gamers. And, indeed, it has been, SteamDB shows a peak player count of just 8, laughably poor show (the developers and their confused and disappointed parents on launch day I guess) and never recovered from that. Most of the time there's zero players... they couldn't even give this away for free. If this is the kind of game you really want to play, what are you doing on PC? Buy a Nintendo and play Super Smash Bros.
