The NFT hate is unwarranted. Its a very captivating game
Preamble Pretty sure the NFT build is still out there and NFTs still come up in ~70% of the conversation surrounding this game, but before writing this off as an NFT cash grab, please consider:

It was a cohesive experience on release, and the devs have (thus far, to my knowledge) actually delivered on their content roadmap and been responsive to serious issues.
They added an offline mode balanced for solo play.
I haven't seen the devs do anything other than distance themselves from blockchain in public forums (granted, it's very possible that I live in the wrong part of the internet for that).
Understand that I really don't care for NFTs as they currently relate to gaming. That said, I'm fairly well convinced Drifter actually cares about the gameplay experience here, and I suspect (certainly don't know) that they weren't utterly thrilled at the prospect of integrating with a blockchain in the first place. Positives

I like how movement options are effectively tied to powers, meaning the way you navigate environments changes from run to run.
The game looks great; the style is consistent and resonates with the setting.
There are some really fun builds; dropping ice spikes and a big force field in a chokepoint then throwing out multiple rocket turrets is a good time.
Meta-progression feels sufficiently rewarding. Every introduction of new power options adds new build opportunities.
Couple of comments and issues:

I don't love the feel of melee. I assume the lack of cancelling is intentional, but it doesn't feel great to try and dash out of the animation and instead do a little spinny attack with a longer animation. I only occasionally use melee to create space for that reason, but not all melee weapons knockback. I only end up taking melee powers with some range.
Definitely feels like there need to be more mission types, maps (or larger maps) and enemies. What's there is acceptable imo, but increased variety would be welcome.
I recognize that bosses probably get modifiers or get doubled up or something later on, but tbh I would like to see more interesting mechanics on bosses (I'm looking at you Backbone).
Here and there text fails to wrap correctly (note this is on Steam Deck).
I've had some long term performance issues on Deck, possibly because of sleeping/waking (I tend to do that rather than closing the game). I get fps between 40-60 normally, but eventually performance degrades to 27-35 (even just in the bar).
The game takes a strangely long time to exit from offline on Deck. I actually lost some progress because I assumed the game was hanging and shut it down manually.
Overall Thoughts It's a good third-person action roguelite with a unique aesthetic. If you like that sort of thing, you'll probably enjoy this. There's a focus on meta-progression and completing explicit objectives to advance, but it's all supported by a fun (if imperfect) loop. I don't think it's the kind of thing that you could "play forever" but imo it's worth the asking price.

This game is really fun so far and I'm not normally one that cares for these types of games but my friend made me get it. The art style is unique and the game play feels refreshing and fun and I'm finding an enjoyable time with my friend and there seems to be a plentiful amount of mechanics in the game currently and I'm looking forward to the future of it.
I don't usually leave a review on games, but I wanted to leave a review for this one because I think this game should've gotten a lot more positive attention on it's 1.0 release than it got initially, and I hope to see more updates even with how bad the sales are looking sadly. It's a great roguelike that really scratches the itch I have for wanting more Risk of Rain 2. The powers feel and look good and the animations for the powers are great to look at. The third-person shooting is standard, but there if you want to focus on it. The heroes are fine, but the extra hero you can unlock is a bit disappointing since it feels like a bit clone of an already unlocked hero. The environments are also a bit disappointing since there's no real reason to explore them, despite how large and complex they can be. No secrets (to my knowledge) is a bummer, but I guess let's you focus on the objective of each mission you go on. I'm hoping there's so much more added to the game like different characters, powers, guns, and actual environments, but it seems like whatever attention the game might get might be negative due to the publisher which I had no idea who they were upon buying the game. Sucks, but I suppose with what was released is good enough for me to recommend.
One of the few non-marvel/DC superhero games out there that is decent (along with Champion shift). There's different powers to choose from as you gain experience. It plays like a roguelike looter shooter version of Borderlands. Has some of the same style and narration but designed for shorter playthroughs, about 30 mins to an hour per run. Easy to pick up and play, nice upgrades, great weapons, and very creative powers. There's 5 power types altogether to customize into 3 power slots. There's also complimentary supports for each power type that play differently. Very thoughtful game that should have gotten more attention. Great on sale if you're looking for something different that's pretty well put together. Some tiny bugs with the gamepad but nothing that will stop you from moving forward (with a mouse). Surprisingly good game and a bit of a sleeper for the level of quality in gameplay.
I wasn't expecting much, and what a surprise. The game is really fun, sad there is nobody knowing this game exists.
A reasonably engaging experience that provides an enjoyable, although not especially deep, challenge. The core gameplay system feels intuitive and compelling to interact with. The flow of fighting swarms of enemies while constantly repositioning to avoid damage works out quite well, aside from randomly getting stuck on bits of terrain. The weapons and powers all feel fine, although the melee seems rigid and looks awkward at times. The game has a relatively stable level of challenge to it, demanding constant attention from the player without necessitating too much trial-and-error to survive and advance. There is a decent amount of variety in the character progression, unlocks, powers and weapons. The enemies, bosses, objectives and areas are more limited by comparison; but still have enough diversity to be tolerable throughout the core experience. The game definitely has a clear foundation for expanding more on its systems, but the limited amount of content currently available limits the replayability in turn. Which is understandable given the lack of a large audience to fund such. The presentation is okay but not especially interesting. The visuals look fine, the music is forgettable but still fine, the dialogue is amusing but somewhat repetitious and the story mostly just exists to justify the gameplay; and does not have much compelling depth beyond that. In general the presentation is adequate but the gameplay is what primarily stands out as making the experience enjoyable. Although not deep enough to have much replayability, the initial experience is compelling enough to be satisfactory on its own. But the game lacks any outstanding elements to make it memorable beyond that.
