Fun game but difficult to play on higher resolutions as the UI breaks with ultrawide. There are also no resolution options ingame, so you can't easily go windowed.
5/10 not my type of game
very fun game reminds of keep talking and nobody explodes. the game as of it's current state is very short but has replay value as you can switch between the nav and the one inside also the maps are randomly generated so it stays fresh each run. a game worth trying and coming back to as the game continues to be updated. Also it will make you feel a bit bad if you fail and you aren't able to save mimi. :(
High intensity difficult fun asymmetric 2 player game. Highly recommend for the $1 price on Fanatical. Very fun with a friend for at least a few hours, hopefully longer.
My Experience I've enjoyed a lot of co-op games that demand communication in a way similar to Superbugs: Awaken, but never before have I had to describe such vague and ambiguous elements within such a tight time limit! Our first play session went fairly well, with us being able to rather quickly put together vaccines to deal with the early viruses. One of the challenges that it seems developer Together Games wanted to include was difficulty in navigating the map. In order to require more precise communication here, the levels are composed of a lot of interchangeable pieces. Although this makes it more difficult for the two players to describe locations to each other, it has a side effect of making all of the levels feel boring. During our second play session, other elements created more time pressure for us and made the vaccines more difficult to assemble. Although we had slowly unlocked some skills that we could use to even the odds, the drawbacks on these skills were so formidable that we refrained from using them very often. I would imagine that for most players, this increased pressure leads to an increase in excitement. For us it unfortunately led to a feeling of tedium and irritation, which was only exacerbated when we began to run into viruses that ran away upon encountering the hunter. While I'm glad that the game has resonated with so many players (it sits at 92% positive at the time of this review), I think myself and my co-op partner will likely return to games that still ask for precise communication but without quite as much tension or time pressure (like the many cooperative escape rooms that release on Steam).
Very fun coop game
Nice asymmetrical co-op, can often get tense trying to explain things quickly. Really worth swapping roles so you can see it from both sides. A steal at $5.
Overall a solid concept with a good gameplay execution, but an awfully slow and difficult start. The options menu is extremely lacking with only audio volume and quality preset present. No FOV setting is a huge negative and almost makes me not want to recommend this game! Pros: + Has a great amount of variety once you get past the tutorial stages. The game adds new mechanics and adds a lot of variety to each new level. + Solid concept with both players needing to do multiple things at once, creating a fun chaotic experience. Negatives: - No resolution settings - No FOV settings and the FOV is quite narrow for the first person perspective. If you have two people that are sensitive to low fov this game is UNPLAYABLE, however if only one person is sensitive you can play as the doctor as a "fix". - AWFULLY slow tutorials and no way to skip it. - Awful balancing on first few levels after the tutorial. Way too hard for new players. - Terrible menus that feel like a mobile game
