Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 25 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

different from Super Trench Attack 1 but I really enjoy that game :)

Super Trench Attack 2, developed by Retro Army Limited and published by Paulstephendavis, is a small yet ambitious indie project that attempts to blend turn-based strategy, survival management, and light rogue-like elements within a satirical war setting. Acting as a loose sequel to the original Super Trench Attack, this installment shifts from the top-down shooter mechanics of its predecessor toward a more tactical structure. It puts players in the role of Lieutenant Ada Frost, a soldier tasked with recovering stolen intelligence and navigating through enemy-infested territories. What makes the premise intriguing is the game’s promise of a procedurally generated campaign, unpredictable events, and a quirky tone that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It aspires to deliver both strategy and humor, a blend that not many small-scale tactical games manage to balance effectively. At its core, Super Trench Attack 2 operates on a turn-based tactical grid system, where movement and combat require careful consideration of positioning and resource conservation. Each mission demands the player to think ahead about supplies, ammunition, and squad endurance, since survival depends as much on logistics as on marksmanship. Every run is built from a mix of handcrafted and randomly generated events—ambushes, skirmishes, weather hazards, and environmental traps—that test the player’s ability to adapt. There are over two thousand possible random encounters, ranging from serious battles to comically absurd scenarios that reflect the game’s irreverent tone. This unpredictability gives the early hours of play a sense of discovery and tension, with the looming threat of permadeath encouraging caution and forethought. Even in its low-budget form, the sense of adventure is palpable as you move through war-torn deserts, frozen mountains, dense forests, and enemy strongholds. The combat system is serviceable but somewhat shallow. Movement is turn-based, attacks are governed by line-of-sight and weapon range, and missions often resolve in small, fast-paced engagements. The enemy AI behaves functionally but not intelligently, and after a while, most encounters fall into familiar patterns. The challenge is often less about tactical brilliance and more about managing randomness—luck in event outcomes, hit percentages, or resource spawns can heavily sway the outcome of a run. For some players, this randomness adds replayability and tension; for others, it introduces frustration, especially when a good run can end abruptly due to a single unlucky roll. The difficulty curve, too, is inconsistent. Early missions can feel overwhelming with limited resources and fragile squad members, while later segments, once the player masters the system, may become repetitive or too forgiving. This uneven pacing occasionally undermines the satisfaction of tactical success, making victories feel arbitrary rather than earned. Despite its flaws, Super Trench Attack 2 does manage to charm through its presentation. The pixel art style is simple but distinct, with bright colors and exaggerated character animations that convey a sense of personality amid the chaos. The game doesn’t strive for realism; instead, it embraces a comic book aesthetic reminiscent of pulp war stories and retro strategy titles. The humor is tongue-in-cheek, poking fun at military clichés, incompetent superiors, and the absurdity of war itself. Though not every joke lands, the irreverent tone keeps the experience from feeling too heavy or monotonous. The soundtrack, while limited in variety, complements the action with upbeat, chiptune-inspired melodies that evoke a sense of nostalgic adventure. Technically, the game runs smoothly even on low-end hardware, requiring minimal system resources and boasting quick load times. Its lightweight design makes it accessible to virtually any player, even those with older machines. The game’s structure encourages replayability, but its content depth doesn’t always justify repeated playthroughs. While the procedural generation ensures that maps and events are slightly different each time, the core gameplay loop remains largely unchanged after a few hours. There are only so many variations of patrols, supply shortages, or minor story encounters before patterns become apparent. The limited variety of enemy types and mission objectives further highlights this repetition. Nonetheless, for those who enjoy the challenge of unpredictable survival games, the tension of limited supplies and high stakes remains compelling. The sense of accomplishment that comes from surviving a difficult run, even one marred by bad luck, provides bursts of satisfaction that reflect the spirit of the genre. Super Trench Attack 2 also benefits from its simplicity. It avoids the cumbersome micromanagement that bogs down many modern tactical games, focusing instead on fast-paced decision-making and concise missions. The absence of complex progression systems or stat-heavy customization makes it approachable, allowing players to jump in and out without a steep learning curve. This accessibility, combined with its low price point, gives the game a certain charm—it doesn’t pretend to be a grand strategy epic but rather a modest, replayable experiment in survival tactics. However, this simplicity can also limit its appeal for players looking for strategic depth or narrative complexity. Beyond its randomized events and straightforward campaign structure, there is little in the way of story branching, character development, or evolving mechanics to sustain long-term engagement. Ultimately, Super Trench Attack 2 is a scrappy, imaginative indie effort that reaches for more than its limited resources allow but still manages to deliver an enjoyable, if uneven, tactical experience. It’s rough around the edges, with repetitive combat and uneven balance, yet it has a sincerity that makes it easy to appreciate. The combination of procedural design, comedic flair, and quick-paced missions ensures that it remains entertaining in short bursts, even if it lacks the depth or refinement of larger strategy titles. It is a game that thrives on experimentation, unpredictability, and charm rather than precision or complexity. For players who enjoy quirky, low-stakes tactical adventures and can accept its flaws as part of its personality, Super Trench Attack 2 offers a light, occasionally chaotic romp through a world where strategy meets satire.
