At the time I'm writing this, I've only played it for a little bit so far, but already love the game's presentation and visuals - absolutely NAILS the original Sega Virtua Racing vibe. Unfortunately, that includes a couple of drawbacks as well ;-) These being: 1. the short clips of music that play once you pass a checkpoint but then end much too soon, leaving you with just your engine sound. 2. Speaking of engine sounds, why don't the other cars make any sounds? It would add vastly to the immersion if you weren't the only noisemaker on the road, so to speak. But it IS in Early Access, so I have high hopes for the devs to address these minor quibbles - and I'm looking forward to more of the awesome tracks that are already included. So far, a winner and a don't-think-just-buy-it rating from me!
super amazing call back to virtua racing! really hope they continuea with updates and make it even better. only problems i have with it is the leader boards are a little bugged but thats a small problem while the rest of the game gets the polish it deserves

Accattivante!!
I did enjoy the game. Do take note that it is in Early Access and doesn't mean what you're playing now is of what will be the final product. I do find this game pretty awesome for what it is. I had a tricky time playing it at first but I got used to the mechanics. Its a tad different then Virtua Racing but again could be some tweaks that need to be done. Ai I find to be a bit of a mess and they are streamlined to the track so there's never a disadvantage for them but it also means when you're far ahead of the pack they won't pick up to you quickly cause there's no rubber banding. Also I don't believe in its current state the difficulty can be changed and that probably is being worked on. Once I got a hang of the game in its current state I pretty much got first place on every track. Another issue compared to Virtua Racing is that all cars start with you at the start line where I feel Virtua Racing all cars its a gradual pick up to first place. You can easily get first place on the first lap of this game. I really do hope they continue the work on this game cause I'd really love to see a new take on Virtua Racing. Lots of works still need to be done. Great work can't wait to see more.
Extremely obvious game inspired by Virtual Racing. If you just look at it, it nailed it. Once you play it however, it's a bit different. This game pulls absolutely no punches. I don't know if F1 is meant to be this challenging but there's no handholding, no easy-mode, and just absolutely no help to be had. If you don't utilize your brake you're not going to finish a lap. Arcade mode is anything but. Every mode is simulation. If you like that type of thing, this game is for you. If you don't, and want an arcade-y more type of racer, pass on this. I'm recommending because the developer shouldn't be punished for making the game they intended. It's about what they wanted as a game creator, not what I want as a customer. The game is not for me, but overall it's still a solid and well designed game. It's Virtual Racing + difficulty. If you're fine with that, hit the big ole green Add to Cart button.
The Dev is not working on this. takes years to get from version 0.1 to 0.2. I am really dissapointed
Jogo incompleto! Deixando os jogadores na expectativa e simplesmente abandonado pelo desenvolvedor!
Game Last Updated - October 2024 I like the idea of this game, I like the ideas of all Dangerous Derk Interactive games but DDI has big issues with finishing games, DDI has game after game in Early Access that haven't been updated in over a year or more and that is very concerning especially when DDI adds more games to their production slate. Super Retro GP is not a bad game but it definitely is not complete, the biggest gripes that I have with it is the car movement, it moves too freely making it harder to control, the steering needs more resistance to stop it from being so twitchy, the best way to describe it is that it turns on a dime, the results are the same on both keyboard and xbox controller. Another gripe is that stats do not save and people love their stats, they show just how good you're going with certain cars so you don't get to keep your fastest time or win totals. If you have brought this game, The Team Python car appears to be the best one to use at Birmingham Superprix, its acceleration allows you to cut through the field easily and it has great turning abilities. Don't buy the game, wait and see if it gets completed and has fresh feedback to determine if it is worth your money or not.
