About
Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure game set on an all-new alien world. It is the next chapter in the Subnautica universe, developed by Unknown Worlds.
Driven from your home by ongoing conflict, Alterra offers you the chance at a new life. But as the colony ship CICADA shepherds you and your fellow Pioneers to your new home, something goes awry. The ship’s AI insists that your mission should continue. Stranded and faced with near-insurmountable odds, you must do everything in your power to survive. The future of humanity on this world is in your hands.
Subnautica 2 is being crafted as a single-player experience that you can optionally play in online co-operative multiplayer with up to three friends. You can choose from four pre-designed characters, with more characters and customization options coming throughout Early Access. Work together to explore long-forgotten ruins and learn to adapt to a planet that might not want you there.
To survive the depths and make this planet your home, you’ll need to utilize all the tools at your disposal. Traverse vibrant and breathtaking biomes with your Tadpole submersible. Design and customize bases to return to when your adventures push you beyond the safety of shallow waters. As Early Access develops, so too will your array of tools, equipment, and vehicles. Upgrades will help push you beyond your boundaries and unlock the secrets of this strange world.
Scan and study a rich world of biodiversity to understand life here. Discover everything from the smallest creatures to towering Leviathans. Experience the wonder, and sometimes danger, lurking around every corner. Every dive is an opportunity to uncover why the ship's AI is so determined to continue the mission and what mysteries lie beneath the surface of this breathtaking new frontier.
Subnautica 2 is an Early Access title in active development. Throughout this journey, we will continuously expand the world with additional biomes, creatures, and craftables, while expanding the narrative. You may encounter bugs, in-development features, and performance issues. Your feedback is the cornerstone of our development process. Join us and help shape the next chapter of the Subnautica universe.
Subnautica 2 is being developed by Unknown Worlds, the studio behind the award-winning Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero. Our journey began with the 2003 Half-Life mod Natural Selection, and today we have evolved into a fully remote, globally distributed team spanning from the United States to the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and beyond. Defined by a philosophy of open development and over a decade of community-focused innovation, we invite you to dive back into the depths with a studio dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the survival genre.

First off, I do understand that this game is in Early Access. However the current content is lack-luster and the development cycle is pretty long. The game has been released for half a year now, but still hasn’t had a single Major content update yet. Performance is ♥♥♥♥ in the meantime, currently the map is just as, if not smaller in size than Below Zero. (Probably should have directed that $100,000 dollars they donated into actual development costs.) (But seriously though, the content updates we’ve gotten so far can be summed up like this: creatures getting scared when we smack them, and proximity chat.) Hopefully though, this review will be temporarily negative until the next few years. Do I recommend this in its current state? No. However I do know how competent these developers are, and hopefully they truly deliver. I probably won’t touch this game until they add the content features like the full story, map and the new vehicles and creatures. Will this game ever capture the same feeling and wonder I first had playing the original Subnautica? Probably not, but heres hoping.

It's fun with friends but I can't lie the content updates have been sparse. I get that it's a new game but I genuinely in good faith cannot recommend this game because there isn't much to do once you get 5 hours into the game. Once you discover just about everything on the map there really is no real progression other than survival which is fine I guess but just the lack of content is what makes it boring to me. The game isn't bad and I may revise this review once they add more but there just isn't anything to do as of now.

when i play online opening my pda will pause the game for others player as i am the host hate this thing and there is no setting to remove it
25 quid for under 10 hours gameplay. not good value.
has a lot of potential but the map is too small wait till full release comes out to play it
The game is terrible and the story is completely boring. The optimization is also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid. There are no words for it. I understand that the game is not ready yet and of course it will be empty. Well, damn, such valuable things, the game weighs about 12 gb. This is funny. When the game first came out, it still worked for me, but after the new update, the game doesn't work at all. There's no optimization at all. It's a fantastic game. Thank you. I don't see any point in buying a game when it's not ready yet or buying it at a big discount. Even on the Xbox, the game works like crap.
not ready dont spend your money
