far from perfect but if you're hungering for a bit of THPS with a subtle twist it's worth it. It is pretty short though, so while I'm personally happy with the price unless you're starving for someone to have a shot at making a game like this maybe wait for it to go on sale.
I've played so many games like this my entire life but ive never played a game like this. This is art, this belongs in a museum. this belongs on standardized tests and driving tests. skateboards should be banned because this game so so gosh darn perfect.
100% sincere and punk as hell. I'm bad at trick-combo games, but this game is such a fun and refreshing place to hang out. I adore the attention-to-detail in the presentation, and its personal, radical, and queer approach to nostalgia. And the way the game features real-life unicyclists and blasts dope music I've never heard feels like being invited to a party in a new city. Makes me want to touch grass and hang with my cool weird friends.

hell yeah! punk rock. has everything those old TH games had, runs slick and lots of fun
street uni x is a fantastic re-interpretation of the classic tony hawk formula. it has the goal of really getting you to marinate & deeply engage with its systems, and it succeeds. the game has tons of charm and really feels like it brings this style of game into the current decade. (i had more than 1.3 hours in at the time! steam was offline and didn't track a really long play session)
not got a whole lot of content but the gameplay is addictive and it's really nice to just cruise around trying to get high scoring combos
excellent game. looks and feels like tony hawk with its own unique playstyle and controls. love that you have to think about which side of the unicycle you're grinding on, love that you can just ride, trick, and grind backwards. a lot of care went into thinking about how a unicycle game should play while still keeping the spirit of a tony hawk game and it makes for a memorable experience. highly recommend
If you like Tony Hawk, imagine THPS 3 if it was one ONE wheel. The 2 minute timer, the level challenges, the graphics, all of it just screams appreciation of what came before it and building on it. I can't wait to see what's next for this game. Also, I walked into this game thinking I'd hit a 1 mill combo like old times and was immediately humbled, its a great time.
Fantastic game with great maps. Each of the maps offering a distinctly different experience playing them. The gameplay itself is great with a good learning curve (Might take slightly longer if your like me and have to learn to turn off the muscle memory from the Tony Hawk games.) The tricks look rad and feel really good to pull off especially around the gaps throughout the maps. The message system I really find charming from its helpful tips for how to do tricks and the messages you get from unicyclists all really help to add more connection to the game to the unicyclists you get to play as. Each of the unicyclists messages especially helping to give a taste of personality for them as characters that might otherwise not have been displayed. The choice of music, unicyclists, control scheme and level designs all really fit together to deliver a concrete style that really helps it to stand out as its own unique game. The PSX nostalgic style perhaps fitting better here than any other of the games I've seen use it as it allows the environment to pop more. An absolutely spectacular game that at time of review I'm happy to know I have much more to enjoy of it and will likely enjoy free roaming around the maps many, many times.
This game is a love letter to PS1 and early PS2 arcade style extreme sports games. The graphics and presentation are a solid recreation of video games like these back in the late 90's/early 00's. There's also a lot of secrets to unlock. I originally didn't know there was a level after the School level in Career, until I unlocked a 4th level my 1st time through career mode. So far, I've beaten career mode with 4 different characters and unlocked a new character every time. I even once accidentally activated a moon gravity cheat code (haven't been able to recreate it since though). The career mode is shorter than career modes in THPS and other games like it from that era, but trying to find what you might unlock next helps maintain the replay value. In terms of gameplay, there's some slight differences in the game controls from THPS games that causes the player to have to go through a re-adjustment period before getting a full feel for the game. The player grinds with the shoulder buttons since you can choose to grind on either the left or right side of a rail. Coasts are the THPS equivalent to manuals in the game, and they are done by pressing the triangle/Y button on the controller. Once you get the hang of these controls, the game starts feeling like THPS 2 with how you're able to chain long street combos using grinds and manuals. There's also some unique gameplay mechanics that can add more flare to your combos. There's a footplant mechanic where you can hold the jump button while in air and then hold down on the left stick. It can help continue combos when trying another manual or grind might be too risky. It also looks cool going from a manual to a footplant on a ledge followed by another trick. There's also wall taps. It may not be a wall ride, but it can be fun to chain together a few wall taps in a combos when you're close between two walls while in the air.
