The skills in this game are cool. The wizard can send out a fire ring blast and a line of fire that follows your mouse. I really like the music too--organ sounds and a catchy beat. I didn't play for a long time (about an hour) but I got to the city of thieves and figured out how to use the portal stone to go back to home base. One glitch I noticed was that the world stayed in night one time, so I started over with a new player.

A simple, but enjoyable ARPG. Please don't go into this expecting it to be exactly like a Diablo game, the production team is small but obviously have a lot of love for this project. The three classes feel unique and fun to play, and being able to eventually work my way to any skill I like is something I find enjoyable. I like being able to fully customize my class skills. I have found myself using the Shaman as my main, and the only issue I have with this is that the summons will use a direct line to go to enemies, not accounting for obstacles in the way. This makes fighting enemies behind walls very difficult, especially at the beginning of the game where you only have one summon. On the plus side, mana regen is quick enjoy to feel like I'm able to use my skills frequently enough to be satisfied, but also slow enough to present an enjoyable challenge while fighting tougher enemies. Overall, I would say it needs a little polish, but the passion and love for a project is evident throughout the game, and it pays homage to Diablo 2, which is my favorite. I hope it keeps getting updates, and I will continue to play!

Alright, I have put almost 4 hours into this game so far. Here is my brutally honest thoughts
NOTE: The fact my music is used in this game doesn't effect my ratings at all. 🔥⚔️🔥

🎮 G A M E P L A Y 🎮
⭐⭐⭐⭐ When I first started this game, I was afraid it was going to be too bare bones relying on the 'grab loot, upgrade, rinse, repeat' style of game for me to really get into it. Well, I quickly realized an hour had passed and I had already made the excuse of "ok, one more level" or "ok, let me just replace these gloves real quick"... and before you know it another hour passed. The thing that absolutely got me hooked was when I realized you could dual wield shields. I have ALWAYS wanted to see this in a game and never really do. It sounds ridiculous, but I play games to push boundaries of reality, not replicate it. I was a tank at heart all throughout my WoW years, and the moment I began dual shields in this game I fell in love. Never remove this feature. Additionally the creativity within the trait system is actually really balanced (the traits themselves may or may not be balanced themselves haha). It's got enough stuff in there that you could explore different builds for days without having to repeat too much and you aren't locked into "oh I'm a warrior so I can only do warrior stuff". I greatly appreciate the freedom of this. It's also not overkill with an insane amount of options where you open the trait menu for the first time, take 10 seconds to try to take it all in, get overwhelmed at where to even start, then shut the game off lol.
⚙️ P E R F O R M A N C E ⚙️
⭐⭐ Could be way smoother, more responsive, but it is constantly getting updated so I am letting this slide. Again, developed by one dude. It's still impressive. Has a lot of room for improvement though. I have ran into many bugs that have quite literally been game stopping, one of which has been the dual shield trait. That has been a big appeal to me since I discovered it and have had to rely on other traits after repeatedly restarting the game over and over due to the bugs. I keep coming back though because Shaun's activity with updating the game. I will go more into that in Dev Activity section tho.
🎨 G R A P H I C S 🎨
⭐⭐⭐ The graphics aren't terrible. There are some annoyances of not being able to find an enemy under a tree that's firing at me, but there are ways around that obviously. I also feel with today's advancements in AI image generation, if Shaun really wanted to spend the time, he could overhaul the graphics to whatever he wanted. They are definitely old school and maintain that kind of vibe pretty well though while not really making a certain aspect in the game stick out like a sore thumb.
♻️ R E P L A Y A B I L I T Y ♻️
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's kind of surprising how fast minutes blew by when playing given how bare bones it is. There is something here that even makes you think about it when offline, and I have to give major credit to the creativity in the trait system as I said before. I also like how it's all randomly generated. Always been a fan of those kinds of aspects in games.
🕹️ C O N T R O L S 🕹️
⭐⭐ The controls need help. I am definitely obsessed with hotkeys. Adding a menu for hotkeys and allowing the user to assign them for all sorts of actions would be absolutely clutch for me personally.
📖 S T O R Y📖
⭐ Having the double edged sword of ADHD, I'm really not one to honestly care too heavily about story line. This is where replay-ability and game-play really reigns king for me. That being said if you get into stories, I haven't even gotten past the first quest, so I actually have no idea.
🔧 D E V A C T I V I T Y ]🔧
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally, last section, but one of the most important in my opinion and the single thing that truly makes me recommend this game regardless of all the fixes it needs (also you can't beat the price... couple bucks for hours worth of gameplay!). This game needs a lot of help though. Considering it is all done by one dude through the Unity Engine (i believe), perfecting a game like this will take absolutely forever. He is active though, constantly updating the game, fixing this and that. So I am very much impressed with this. He is also responsive with comments/emails when bug reporting. Huge bonus.
📝 S U M M A R Y 📝
Easily Recommend Like I said, you just can't beat this game at the current price of a couple bucks. Just know you are going into a bare bones style game. And again, It's created and actively developed by a one man which is impressive. It has such an old school D2 vibe that I miss. I've already gifted this game to 4 of my friends. Looking forward to watching this game grow!
This is a great game. Simple and fun. Even I, who don't like that style very much, had a lot of fun playing. I recommend giving it a chance. The game is sensational.
Well first of all, it's as janky as you think it is. One of those games that I'm surprised functions. There's no key mapping, which is a terrible start to a game. You just need to click your entire keyboard to see what things do, and after doing that I didn't locate use of the map, which contradicts the first quest being marked on your map. Just feels like one of those 90s rpg games you wish was better than it is, because you know you'd play it if it was.

Storms 2 is genuinely a fun game that makes you have to think and explore to get the best play through. The designs of the armor and weapons are much better than some games. I would say a tutorial in the beginning of how to fight, collect things and important aspects would be really beneficial.
