Positiv - Musikauswahl Geht so - Story Negativ - Grafik/Engine - Übersetzung "Ich bin ein Glückskeks" lol - Preis, das Spiel ist max. 1 EUR wert.
A walking simulator / visual novel. Not much game-play, art-style is a little basic, 3rd person camera was too zoomed in, music, which seems was a big focus, was not really to my taste and UI was not optimized for controller, but despite all of those problems there was a certain charm to it. The story while simple was engaging, the cinema and included short film was interesting and the voice acting was decent. Its not the worst way to spend a couple of hours.
I got this game with the impression this would be a crime-style graphic adventure (noir style), but in fact, it is not. I would hardly call it a game, since none of the dialog options really matter, and you are just a bystander following the story. There is not mystery to solve, no skills needed to play this. Furthermore, the story is really poor, the diversity of characters is extremely low, and I realize what was going on during the first chapter of the game. I’m not even going to talk about the graphics… The only thing interesting is the sound track (but still, with just a few songs). It I would give a 2/10.
Throw in a bit of Guy Richie, mix with a bit of The Big Lebowski (even the duderino is mentioned) and you have STONE. The protagonist is a beach-bum sort of guy, who's also a private investigator trying to find a person after a serious night of partying. In terms of gameplay, it's a very light adventure game, meaning that there's not that much adventuring or investigation to do. You're mostly interacting with something here or there in a linear way. Think of it as a visual novel with a controllable character and interactions. I'm not describing this as a critique, it's a very nice game with a great story and characters. And as a plus, STONE can smoke a joint whenever you feel like it.
This is a simplistic single-player story game where you play as a hungover/stoned "ex-detective" Koala named Stone trying to find out about a friend that has been kidnapped. The writing leans from predictable to average at best and isn´t a very memorable experience in general BUT the soundtrack is amazing and for me, that´s worth the purchase of this game (at least on sale). The soundtrack on this game makes it more interesting to explore/reach 100% completion. The game somehow wasn´t boring and it definitely has a style to it. Just a slightly above average game. My final rating for this game is a (low) 6/10.
I don't have any problem with walking sims or gameplay-light narrative games in general - to the contrary, I'm a big fan of many such games, as anyone who looks at my review history can tell. But Australian "hip-hop stoner noir" Stone is so insubstantial that I don't really understand why the devs bothered to make it with animated 3D graphics at all instead of as a short, voice-acted visual novel; the 3D environments all consist of one or two sparsely detailed rooms, in which there's almost always next to nothing to do except to have a conversation with a single NPC. As for the story, it doesn't turn out to be much of a noir after all, nor is there much of anything I'd recognize as stoner culture despite the title; there's also a fair bit of jank, with dialogue options and lines frequently overlapping with each other. The Australian flavor, animal characters, and gay protagonist (the last of which is refreshingly underplayed) make Stone odd enough that I don't really regret my time with it, but I can't exactly recommend it, either.
With memory loss likely in cahoots with the groggy slushing in his head, the PI koala wakes to find his boyfriend missing. it seems both yesterday and today are co-conspirators of the same hangover, playing out tumultuous loops in his mind! will the stoned ♥♥♥♥ crack the case ..or crack A case and watch night of the living dead while blitzed off his gourde? interesting enough game that travels a short distance but packs for the winter! Art is good. game moves smoothly (no run). voice over is all on point, it is mostly casual down beat conversing, with askew personal sequences and revelation. true to say that it is not really a puzzle game, it is mostly concerned with telling story. so i guess depending on your preference you could consider it a really casual game or an incredibly well stocked novel or visual/audio presentation. It has packed not only a pretty dam fair selection of rock hip hop and other music but also has roughly 2 plates of cb-cookies worth of actual full movies you can watch in game! (noice!) although the dude acheivment doesnt unlock for me. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3168503975 it was a steep hard climb to emotional high ground and I was looking for a sniper!
