About

An entire universe awaits you in Stars Reach. In this science-fantasy MMORPG, you'll visit strange, new worlds, become an explorer, and build a life on planets that react to everything you do. Your choices will change your world. And, you'll do it with every other player on a single server. Leave your mark on the galaxy!
Each world responds to your actions. A deep, reactive simulation allows water to flow naturally, forests to burn, and lava to harden into new materials and land masses. From lush forests to winding rivers to perilous mountains, every planet has its own ecosystems, resources, and challenges. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you, how wildlife reacts, and ultimately which settlements prosper.
Planets are living systems. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you. Climate changes, creatures migrate, disasters strike, and the world reacts in ways you can’t fully control.
Travel through wormholes to discover new worlds, explore, build, survive, and thrive. Every planet begins untouched. What it becomes is up to you.
Master one of dozens of skill paths, and live the galactic life you’ve always dreamed. Whether you want to protect settlers as a ranger, build a trade empire, or offer your services as an architect, Stars Reach offers many skill paths that allow you to chart a course through space that fits your play style. There are different weapons to master. There’s a career path just for you in Stars Reach.
You’re not locked into any single playstyle. Experiment with different skill paths and find the combination that suits you best. Build your own class from different skill sets and define your role in the galaxy.
Your first steps onto a new world take you far beyond the familiar. You’ll need to adapt to your surroundings by learning to survive. Every skill path has accompanying equipment, which you’ll gain proficiency with by using those tools.
More importantly, your contributions to the community will increase your proficiency. A camp you build will earn you experience when others rest at it. Community means survival, and we’ve built Stars Reach to support pro-social behavior and limit the ability for other players to ruin your experience through griefing.
You can build a cozy cottage on a remote hill, and carve out a living by yourself. But if you crave community, team up to build settlements and cities, shape how they grow, and decide how they are governed.
Team up and claim a large plot of land that isn’t just a home base. You and your friends can cluster your homesteads, build a community, and govern together.
The resources you gather can be sold in a unified galactic economy driven by players. Or, you can use them to craft tools and technology to supply distant worlds with vital goods necessary for their survival.
Trade with players across the galaxy, specialize in what you make, and become a master of your craft and earn renown across the galaxy.
Your choices determine what comes next.
Cities grow or decline, ecosystems shift, wildlife becomes extinct, and resources are used up or recover based on what you do. Protect the environment and its inhabitants, or strip mine it for profit. Other players live with the results of what you leave behind.
This is Stars Reach! What will you become?

Alright you guys and girls and everyone in between, I am going to give my honest to god feedback regarding this game. I have had the pleasure of watching this game grow throughout the alphas and betas and quite frankly despite the rough times it waas going through, it was still a lot of fun. First and foremost, as everyone knows this game is eaarly EARLY access, but it still feels like there's enough to do until the inevitable 1.0 releaase. If you are going into thiss game solo, it will be VERY hard as this game is built around an actual MMO and grouping system, which I think it perfects it excellently! Find yourself a great guild and work together to create the city of your dreams with tails, weaponsmiths, cooks, biologists etc. Needless to say there is still some small bugs and some lag, but I expect some of that, plus my computer is not the strongest. While many of the reviews are negatvie, I highly recommend you give Stars Reach a shot, as with a good team and have a blast!

I don't know what part of "Early" people don't understand about Early Access. It's not a finished product. I realize many developers use it as a way to dump a trash product on the market to make a quick buck, but that is not what these devs are doing. They are already addressing performance issues. Until you get some big numbers of players hammering your servers, you can't really know what is going to happen, and Steam helps with that big time in Early Access. The days of waiting years and years for a "finished" mmorpg are all but over with. Most game companies are not willing to take the risk. That leaves it up to indie devs to fill that gap. All the spoiled brats that do nothing but try to review bomb everything because they didn't get enough hugs as children make my tush tired. I have a significant investment in this game. Yep, I put my money into something I thought would eventually be good. I did so knowing the risks. The $30 for EA is a teeny tiny drop in the bucket compared to what kickstarters provided. We aren't gullible. We aren't stupid. We know the risks. We just wear grown up pants and invest in things that we think could be fun. I wish people would grow up, but unfortunately, it seems that way too many people 40 and under just refuse to mature.
Despite the 0 day bugs, dev team has been relentless in squashing bugs quickly and at the same time fixing features to allow continued player progress. Excited to see how this accelerated patch schedule continues to fix things and update systems. Personally have had no issues since playing for 8 hours.
I would not advise purchasing the game unless you are fully aware of the status of the current version of the game. If you just want to support a unique game's development go for it. It was not ready to be in EA but it appears they were running out of options, I am not a fan of the lowest priced option being 30$ due to the expectations people will have for paying that much. The game is still in alpha status and has a lot of work to be done. That being said they have been adding content as fast as they can and the concept of the game is one of a kind, they have taken a lot of risks to try and provide something that is not another cookie cutter MMO, it will provide physics that no MMO has ever attempted and social mechanics that make working with strangers beneficial for both people involved. Advanced crafting where the same tool can be made with a variety of different materials and have different stats. And a lot of skills with no rigid class systems among many other features. I am rooting for this game and its vision.
Hello to all of you out there. I have been a backer for this game through KS and a fan of Raph Koster since original UO. To date in the EA version I have 37 hours into the game play and I am having a blast. I realize there are a lot of negative comments and people have a right to feel frustrated, but with that said, we need to be aware that EA games often have bugs and server issues. That while it can lead to frustration and a potential urge to rage quit, you may be missing out on an opportunity of a life time. Some of the games this genius has had a part in, left imprints that cannot be satisfied by other games. Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies are one such reason I continue to play in the EA. I can honestly say in my 40 years of online game play, some of the features in this game are reminiscent of some of the great old games. Where communities come together with shared purpose and a love for adventure. So while you are waiting for the bug fixes, or the releases you are looking for then go find yourself a good group, share laughter at some of the silly things that happen with the bugs (I mean come on, spawning in as a pile of stick, to funny) and have a measure of patience. Oh and take screenshots, if you don't have them if never happened. *grins* This game I believe will fill out beautifully, explore, meet people, dive for cover when storms hit and don't try to pet the tigers. I hope to see you all in game! Oh and don't forget to say hi to the Horizon Initiative and stay safe out there!
Ok. I'll cut to the chase. Even though this is early access, its more akin to an early beta/ late alpha. That being said, the vision for this game is fantastic and it does shine through the moment you start participating in the game as part of a community. Which makes sense for what the developers of this game have envisioned. An entirely community driven sci fi MMO. If you want a taste of the vision that the developers (whom I may add have been extremely transparent and responsive to the community) have for this game, $30 is not a bad price tag to get in early, make your mark, help out the developers, and support the remainder of the polish and development of this game. Again, I reiterate, this game currently is FAR more enjoyable with a community working towards a goal. However, if you are looking for a full fleshed out game loop and the ability to grind and progress akin to a traditional modern MMO, then $30 may be better spent elsewhere.
