Space has never looked so inviting - but images can betray...It has been two years since the end of the second Gemini war, the situation in the wartorn system is further from resolution than ever.

Overall, it's on the good side of mediocre, and I want to recommend it, but I just can't for $35 in 2025. It's not being updated and there are lingering bugs (nothing game breaking yet, but it's the principle of the matter), plus the graphics are starting to get pretty dated at this point. I'll never understand why game studios leave sales on the table because they wont go back & adjust their prices down to match reality. An old game that will eventually be left behind and stop working, is not an appealing deal for full price.
It's one of the best games i've ever played i do wish it had mutiplayer tho

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good old fashioned spaceship shooter. Something I crave every few years, to reminisce back to the ancient Privateer game. Starpoint Gemini 2 does this well. I especially like capturing ships.
This game is like a watered down version of Eve Online meets Freelancer. This is perhaps ,in my opinion, the perfect start to making an addictive space RPG. I'll start with some of the negatives then get into what makes this game pretty cool. -The game isn't perfect on the technical side as there is slow down when there are lots of particle effects and my PC is more than capable of handling it. -AI Navigation (the GO TO) function tends to over correct and can't go around space stations properly, so you have to back out and point yourself at the destination some of the time. A minor gripe. Just pay attention as it sometimes won't avoid asteroids. Rarely though. -The game isn't as indepth as many would like it as far as gameplay is concerned. -Voice acting is "meh" but not horrible -Traveling can become boring and taking jump gates is expensive. If you don't have the patience that "typical" space sims require you will want to play this in doses. Pros: -The map is one giant persistent area, with a hexagon over map that can be accessed anytime and pauses the game while you look around. Once you touch each area it uncovers the whole hexagonal area on the map. -Accessing side missions and freelance mission is simple. Plus you can easily set way points and click "go to" with out any trouble, which brings me to my next point. -The game can be played almost entirely with a mouse though I would advise using the keyboard for banking and rolling. Which is extremely important for turret locations on the ship. -You can take your time and explore to uncover planets and space stations to your hearts content. Your ship's voice will let you know about incoming bad guys and in typical RPG fashion find out the hard way which areas should be left alone for now. An evolution to this game would make the ultimate ship based RPG and seems to be the best of the 3
So let me clarify the majority of the reason I thumbs down this game is for personal preferences. But there has been some bugs. but before i do let me give credit where its due. its graphics are not bad at all for how old it is and it is a massive map. once you get the hang of it it can get pretty easy. 1. Issue is i hate the grind in this game. it takes so long to build up enough cash to have a real nice ship and to be strong enough to even play the game as well as the long haul across the universe. i get its space and all but damn. 2. learning to play takes a lot of reading boring training exercises. this is a personal issue because i mm more of a doer than a reader when learning something. 3. the auto pilot system is broken and will not maneuver well at all, often crash into things and often if you have it go to a planet to dock it will just fly past it or smash into it. 4. bug. the game crashes. i had to do many fixes to get this game to stop crashing, as for most older games but still. 5. it would constantly start in a different window resolution and often windowed mode and that got quite annoying. overall i give this game a 5/5 and thats just out of respect for what it could have been.
The game has some nice points. Capturing ships is the fastest way to build wealth. The game has no strategy. Its just get a better ship, then get an even better ship and get more wealth so you can get the best ship. The HUD is too big, intrusive and bright for me. It is a total distraction to immersion. You can hit F11 to remove the HUD, but it removes everything, the mouse pointer, ship targeting. Even the destination markers are gone, so you are blind in space this way. I have tried using a HUD mods, and there is one that is better than vanilla. Its finicky to get it to load the 1st time. It wouldn't work with my DLC's until I used it without DLC's first. Don't ask me why. It makes the borders of the HUD see through, so you can see more action below your ship. However, the icons are still super sized and too big. Still, makes the game more functional.
This game got me hooked! I'm not usually the one to get too much into exploring the ever-growing vastness of space (dark, overly lenghty, boring), but Starpoint Gemini 2 managed to make it extraordinarily eventful! The game is really on point and I love it. I've tried the prequel and am yet to play the sequel, but I firmly believe the standards go up with each new release. I cannot get over the fact how well the audiovisuals are made, and how much they enhance the overall atmosphere. I've lost a handful of missions purely out of my negligent immersion in the 'feel' of the moment :D Anyway, very cool, I'm still catching up with the combinations and strategies for the best experience possible. 3D models are amazing, music even more so, the backgrounds and everything - so cool! Dialogue, however, needs more fluidity as I've caught myself being more drawn to small freelance missions rather than Main and Side, but that may only be me. It just means I play the game longer ;) All in all, I'm very entertained by Starpoint Gemini 2, and I'd definitely recommend it for aspiring space explorers and everyone who feels like it!
ОООЧЕНЬ скучно =(
