Game no longer works
Hacky game that could have been better. Game does not respect player time Pros: 1. SHIP DESIGN!!! 2. simple but addicting research progression 3. combat CAN be fun as it is punishing. you can Manually manuver your ships around, which makes for a steep learning curve but once understood can be used to take advantage ship design. 4. Planet building and management! (some how related to settlement age and population with some consideration to the buildings there. . . ) 5. NPC dialog and missions are GREAT!!!! Cons: 1.Although we get to place our weapons on the ship one kind of has to surmise whats best where for which ship and assumed "role". 2. Game punishes good Management PC players by focusing catastrophies on their region or empire directly; seems to try and slow down their progression so the NPCs get a clear advantage. I read the AI doesnt cheat but if you remove the FOG youll see that the "random" attacks are pretty concentrated on the player. 3. NPC's seem to not have penalties and max stats; which annoying. 4.although the fights can be fun their mostly just gruelling fighsts against Bullet sponges tank/DPS/Support class npc ships combating player design 5. Random galactic Events such as Reminant, or the portal people those events need to F*CK OFF until the end of mid level, that way the player has more time to establish boarders with the NPCs (whom do not seem to have the same negatives as the Player). OR should attack the highest scored civilization instead! 6. Planet progression, like wtf, Food, per production, makes more money than production even with the prod to BC enabled; seems like the older a planet is the "better" its outputs become for like no reason (buildings take time to build yes and i take that into account), over extending a trade to get something say like a valuable technology such as "energy density" (increases all laser type weapons by 50% or something) but over spend your "relationship meter" amount ( IE: you have 200 points, but the traade costs 210 and get a 10 point deficiet and boom now your population is mad and you might ahve a war with what used to be our closet ally. 7. TRADE! WTF your "relationship meter", grown by trading with neighbors, dictates the back lash with your population and the trade population (which can just spark SUDDEN wars! oops your last trade made both of our populations make you mad at one another so now you fight). This seems to confuse War and conflict with diplomacy and trade; i get the "complexity" of diplomacy and war but this was flat land type thinking. 8. Auto anything is almost always bad 9. OVERLY simplified everything, which is both a pro and a con. the information provided is some time ambiguous and even intentionally esoteric.
